Hand Held Bug Zapper

If you aren't already familiar with the hand held bug killer, you are really going to like it and if you have had one before, I'm sure you'll welcome it back like an old pal! The handheld insect zapper does just what it says it does: it zaps bugs. But it does it really, really well.

Any insect that comes into contact with the handheld insect killer is fried. Smaller bugs like gnats and mosquitoes are disintegrated with a very pleasing flash and a crack. Larger insect, like house flies and wasps die, but don't explode like the smaller ones.

Think about it, how many times have these flying bugs taken the edge off an otherwise enjoyable evening in the garden? Or how many times have you not been able to get a decent night's sleep, because you know there's at least one mosquito in the bedroom. It has happened to me dozens and dozens of times, I know! It is very gratifying to get one's own back with the handheld insect killer.

I don't like killing anything unnecessarily - I'm married to a Buddhist- but mosquitoes? I'm sorry, they have to go. And the electronic insect zapper dispatches them without any messing about. No waiting and hoping they'll fly into the ultraviolet light and then into the mesh. No, one sweep of the handheld insect killer and the mosie's gone and you can hear whether you got her or not. (I say her, because the sucking mosquitoes always are females - honest, I wasn't being sexist).

There are two basic types of electric bug killer. There's the battery operated bug zapper and the rechargeable electric bug zapper. Both work on the same principle, but I prefer the rechargeable type, although I suppose you could use rechargeable batteries too. (I bet they would be more expensive that the bug zapper in the first place). Anyway, I have had a electric bug killer of the rechargeable kind for five years and I am very happy with them.

These days, I spend a great deal of time in northern Thailand with my wife, so you can bet your bottom dollar that my handheld insect zapper gets a good work-out almost every night. We usually eat in the garden in the evening and all socializing is done outside by tradition, especially in the rural areas, where we live, so it comes in very handy. I also use my handheld insect zapper to 'sweep' the bedroom for bugs before we go to bed at night, just like a secret agent.

The electric bug zapper just seems to improve every time I buy one, which makes it difficult to give you definite specifications. The electric bug zappers I had four or five years ago, often failed after six to nine months of purchase, although their ability to store a charge reduced a lot after four or five months.

However, the latest electric insect zapper will easily last 9-12 months and still be formidable after nine months. My newest one even has a strong light called a headlamp built into it. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be for, but if you think that revenge is sweet, you can lure mosquitoes with it and then kill them with your electronic insect zapper.

Make sure you place it near a wall socket but far enough that you can walk its circumference comfortably. If you want, you can move it farther against the wall when you're done decorating.

Choose a theme and a color palette and have your tree adhere to these parameters as well. The first decorations you will hang up are the lights. Mini white lights are a classic which go well with anything but take your pick among the different kinds available in the market today. Begin with the lowest set of branches, coiling the strand of lights around the trunk and limbs evenly and work your way upwards.

The next set of decorations we hang up are the holiday garlands wrapped around the tree. Use tinsel for this purpose. There are some with little sequins attached to them and when the light hits it, they give off rainbow colored reflections that are stunning to see. Avoid using edible food like stringed popcorn and cranberries unless you can be sure no mice or bug will sniff this out and gnaw on them in the middle of the night.

We're almost done; we're now at the accessories. Depending on the theme you went for, load up on embellishments that complement it best. For example, trimmings of lace, velvet and pearls naturally lend a timeless and elegant holiday look. Go country by tying sprigs of colorful flowers and herbs in fabrics around the limbs of the tree. And lastly, hang up pretty christmas balls of different sizes and shades around the whole tree. Getting Educating about the World's Energy Crisis

People do not have the right perception about how wind energy will be the win all be all solution to the world's energy crisis. The hard truth is there is no easy quick answer to this crisis. With the demand for energy growing faster than what we originally thought it would, we are struggling more and more to keep up.

Would you believe that by the time we reach 2050 the energy usage will be double what it is today? It's a scary though considering the problem we already have now. This is due to the ridiculous population growth all over the world.

Even the countries that don't utilize a substantial amount of energy are using technologies that need it. In the end it's adding a lot more stress to the world.

Two prime examples of this are India and China. Both have bolstered their abilities in the automotive world, the flying arena, and even electronics. So not only will they be accumulating more fuel, they'll be using much more electricity.

Hopefully this all makes sense, and helps you understand how important it is for our societies to start using renewable resources. Obviously we'll still need the same old things like coal and oil, but it's becoming more difficult to dig deep within the earth's core.

While wind and solar energy are definitely our future, they aren't necessarily a concrete answer. Can you believe that only 1% of the energy supply is used through these two options? The good news is experts are claiming that around the mid-21st century we should see that number increase to 30% or more. We just have to remember that turbines and solar energy systems will have to be installed and utilized appropriately.

Plus we'll need to figure out a way to lower the cost for it as well. This is going to take a substantial amount of time, which means we all have to be patient. More importantly, it's our jobs to make the world a safe place to live in, and there is no better way then helping the environment stay clean.

So for now we'll just have to keep moving forward when it comes to wind and solar power. Eventually it could be used in every home out there, but for now just do what you can. In the end it's going to cut down fossil fuels and give everyone a better understanding of how it can help each and every one of us.
