So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Leather Maintenance Tactics For Beginners

By Ethan O. Tanner

Leather is a natural substance that requires special treatment for various repairs. The only way to un-crack leather is to replace it. One approach that leather repair specialists use is to clean the leather and then re-color it. The result is that the leather will have a uniform appearance. The cracks will still be there but will be less apparent. You can also have a leather repair professional replace the cracked areas and match the new leather to the original color. This works best when you are working with a panel of leather, for example on a car seat or the surface of a furniture cushion.

Dog and Cat Scratches can easily damage a valuable piece of leather furniture. For dogs, most damage occurs while climbing on and jumping off. If you are a cat owner, leather fillers or tanner's resin will cure the symptoms but not the problem. You might consider buying your cat a scratching post and put it near the area where the cat is scratching before using the filler.

You might be able to fix slight abrasions on leather furniture. Spray water on the abrasion and cover it with a small square of one thousand grit wet sand paper from the hardware store. Sand very gently until the surface is smooth and you can't feel the tear from the abrasion any longer. You might end up requiring to re-color the piece of furniture if the scratch hurt is extensive. That would be a line of work for a professional.

If your leather has a small tear and it is not highly obvious, (and if the color is black) any leather restore kit should be adequate if you abide by the directions. Nevertheless, there are a few items to be mindful of just in case you encounter troubles. The repair textile might not bond well with the leather. This occurs whenever the leather is old or whenever the heating element supplied with the kit (if it's included) isn't hot enough.

Usually, a leather repair kit will contain grain papers that you rub over the repaired area to imprint a grain-like finish. The idea is that the grain will resemble that of the original undamaged leather as much as possible. Some grain papers are also pigmented. It's difficult to match color but it's even more difficult if the leather is old. Experts say that unless the leather color is black, the repair will show.

You might need to place a smaller piece of fabric and padding beneath the tear to assist applying the edges together. You could place a piece of textile under the tear and paste it with the edges to be repaired as close together as imaginable. Hold the edges put together while the adhesive material dries out, or use a hair drier (really cautiously) to quicken the action.

Using a leather repair kit will usually hide the tear and hopefully prevent further damage. The problem with using a leather repair kit is the damaged area will always be weaker. The other thing you can do of course is have someone replace the damaged section of leather and match the color professionally. This is the best repair, but also the most costly.

Stuck leather presents a challenge. If you have a leather item with sides, such as a purse that appear to be stuck together, look inside to see if you can tell exactly where the sides are sticking. Hold the item over a pot of boiling water ? not too closely and do not allow the purse to get soaked. The heat and humidity will expand the pores in the leather and might allow you to work the sides free, just do not force them if they will not budge. You could also try to work some leather cleaner in between the sides. If there is dirt or other grime that's holding the sides together, this may loosen it. Finally, if getting the sides separated doesn't look easy, take it to a cobbler for repair.

How Much Does My Husband Love AK-47 Gun T-Shirts?

By Ollie Sims

I have a great husband. His name is Tom and he does everything a husband is supposed to do. He helps provide for the family, he supports and loves us, and he protects us from harm. He is a Godly man and he knows how to be a leader in both a familial sense and a workplace sense. He is a hard worker. That's why I don't mind one bit that he he loves collecting guns, especially AK-47 assault rifles. He even wears gun tees that feature his favorite rifle.

When I say that my dear husband loves AK-47 assault rifles, I really mean it. If you want to get him really excited, just ask him why. He'll proudly point to whatever which of his cool AK-47 t-shirts he's wearing at the time and start telling you the entire history of the gun. It can be a bit overwhelming.

When I say my husband is really dedicated to his collection, I can't stress that enough. While some people who are very dedicated to their interests, they can tend to ignore some of the more important things in life...like God, kids, or your lovely wife. My dear Tom does none of those things. He is just as attentive to his family as he is to his personal interests. He can wear all the cool gun shirts he wants, as long as he kisses me every day and takes out the garbage.

Of course, you can't be immersed in something like that for so long without being drawn to it yourself. While I may have started off fairly ignorant of gun ownership and responsibility through the years. I have even started getting pretty excited about wearing my very own women's version of gun shirts, most of them featuring my sweetheart's favorite gun: the AK-47.

I never thought I would be where I am today. I never even pictured myself as a homemaker. Now I clean house, raise three children, and attend to the needs of a large house. I love my life and my husband, and we are both insanely in love after all of these years. Because of that love, I support gun rights and gun ownership. I wear gun tees to the supermarket and I'll debate the staunchest anti-gun person around. My husband has worn off on me, I suppose.

Winter Time Suggestions To Keep That Vehicle Cleaned Up

By Christopher Bell

Overland Park KS is really tough on cars during the winter time. Most of the road salt and harsh chemicals used to melt ice ends up being destructive for your car. Then you have the local car wash that washes the salt off your car with harsh chemicals. Your automobile can get bombarded from a ton of angles throughout the winter. We have assembled basic methods that will help you keep your car alive through the winter season.

Before the snow comes, you should look at using a good car detailing wax. Wax will protect your car's paint and act as a strong shield for the car. If you have a car that you really cherish, good wax is very important.

Well before the wintry weather visits, be sure to put together a course of action to keep your car cleaned. You may or may not choose to go for an auto detail during the middle of winter but you'll want to make certain you wash the car immediately after each and every time it snows.

Making sure to keep your vehicle cleaned will be really important for guarding the ride through the winter time. You will find lots of possible choices around. Some people visit the local automatic car wash while some clean their car on their own. Some drive to the neighborhood detailing company and some take advantage of having a mobile detailer come to their location. Whatsoever course of action you choose, just make sure to keep your car detailed and clean.

Are you looking for some advice with regards to driving to the automatic car wash? Automatic car washes are well recognized for their extremely strong cleaners and swirl inducing brushes. While many car washes use brushes that mare your car some other automatic car washes are touch-free yet they have to use extremely strong cleaners. The brush-less car wash is really the ideal way to use. Auto washes that will use the brushes will often swirl and scuff your car. Although the touch-free car washes use harder chemicals and cleaners, it really is the better of the two.

Here are several pieces of advice for when you go with the touch-free car washes though. Go ahead and look back at what was mentioned in paragraph two where we talked about car detailing waxes. Selecting a durable wax won't only guard your car against the road salt but it will likewise guard your vehicle from the extreme cleaners used at your nearest car wash. So what exactly is the ideal auto detailing wax to go with you ask? Let's go over the main distinctions between auto detailing waxes.

Make certain that you choose to go with a synthetic car wax product rather than a normal carnauba wax. Synthetic car waxes are made for gloss and longevity but natural carnauba waxes are mainly applied for visual appearance. Carnauba waxes aren't going to be as resistant as synthetic car detailing waxes will be with regards to the tough cleaners brush-free auto washes have. Let's look at more alternatives to keep your car washed through the winter.

If you choose an automobile detail company to clean your car, make certain that they use one rinse bucket and a fresh water soap bucket to detail your car. This is important since the greater number of car detail companies only use one bucket. And to make it worse, some car detailers won't use a bucket in any way. They will rinse your vehicle with a little water and then wipe over the dirt while drying your ride using a drying towel. There are several shortcomings with each of these sorts of auto detail shops.

To start with, your car will get damaged whenever you use a car detailing shop that cleans your car without a bucket. If they merely clean the car off using a little water and then dry the car to take off the dirt, they'll be chaffing dirt and grime across your car's nice paint job which will cause marring. When the car detailing company is only using a single bucket, you have the danger of the water getting so dirty that the car's paint will get scratched up because of the filth. It is essential that whatever car detailing business you choose with is washing your car with two buckets. One bucket that has fresh soapy water in it and a second bucket that is used to wash off their washing mitt.

Would you like to detail the vehicle on your own?Use the very same rinse off bucket and soap water bucket method that we just discussed. The goal of good car cleaning is to remove all of the debris and filth from your car while at the same time reducing the potential for inducing scratches or marring.

Whatever process you choose, it's very important to make sure your vehicle is waxed with a synthetic wax before winter season and keep it clean and washed immediately after every single snowfall all through the the winter season. The perfect detailing waxes that you can get yourself to cover your car during this cold winter is the synthetic wax. If you remember, the synthetic wax is extremely resilient and will endure the tough salt on the winter roads and the acid-based car wash chemicals and cleaners. Shielding your vehicle throughout the winter weather will keep your vehicle looking it's very finest. Good luck to you while you get through the hard months of winter that Overland Park Kansas carries our way.
