Although I own a laptop; and it does what I want it to. I was pondering the idea of getting a tablet. I read many reviews on Kindle products like this one and settled on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G model. Plus, I did not want to pay a lot of money for an iPad.

I was looking for something that I could listen to music, view my favorite shows, and read my e-books on as well as do some light web-browsing.

When researching the different tablets and e-readers, I landed on a page that was talking about the Kindle Fire. I got it and I decided to give my own review about it.

When I used my Kindle for the first time, I was really amazed with how well the quality of the picture display was. However, it's not Blu-Ray quality or anything like that but I am impressed with how crisp and clear the screen is. All of my favorite TV episodes and movies from Netflix played back extremely well.

The display screen displays clean and crisp text and images with total clarity. Browsing websites, playing games, and downloading apps is a snap with this model.

When you listen to music or audio books on this model, the sound is absolutely incredible. Before I upgraded to this model, I read other user reviews on it and they complained that the sound was not all that great.

But for me, I have no complaints. The sound quality that you get from this tablet sounds like music coming from Bose speakers.

I wanted this model because of the myriad of apps that are available; I can listen to all my my favorite tunes, and download all of my TV shows and movies that I need to catch up on. I also love to read but this wasn't the main reason I got an upgrade.

But if you have the joy of reading, this model won't let you down. Amazon has taken the guess work out of finding, reading, purchasing, and listening to audio books. They have made it real easy for us.

Amazon's Prime lending library has an almost exhaustive list of books that you can borrow from. They have all the classics like Little Women, Gulliver's Travels, Dracula, and much, much more. And the best part about it, you can get access to them for FREE!

Many of these books come with audio for free but for the ones that don't; there is a text-to-speech feature that works pretty good if you don't want to pay for audio books. As I said earlier, I did not get this model for the e-reader but since it is so fun and easy to read with it, I find myself yearning to read more.

Web browsing isn't perfect but it isn't the worst either. I say this because it doesn't have Flash support. This stifles your browsing experience a bit but I have found a way to get around this tiny obstacle.

Download the app called ES File Explorer and then a separate browser named Dolphin. The browser Dolphin gives you the Flash support you need.

Don't worry this is very easy to do if you just take your time. Silk, which is what it comes with out of the box, is doable and works well with Net surfing; but on occasion Flash is needed.

Since Adobe does not support tablets anymore, Flash support does not come with a Kindle. So, don't blame Amazon for this slight inconvenience. You can surf really quickly on the Internet as long as you have a good internet network.

There is a wide variety of apps to choose from with your new Kindle. The only apps I wish they had are YouTube, Dropbox, and SiriusXM. But all in all, I am happy with what is there.

Maybe because I am a guy I am saying this but I find this model a bit sexy. It is thin and sleek and feels nice in your hand. It's lighter and easier to hold than the 7" model.

The only slightly negative thing about this model is that the power and volume buttons can be a bit hard to find; but after you use it for awhile, you get used to it. And another thing, it doesn't come with a charger.

If you don't want to spend the extra $20.00 for the charger, a charger from your smartphone will do. The Kindle Fire charger will charge your Kindle in an hour while a regular USB cable will take about an hour and a half to fully charge.

Before I end this Kindle Fire Review, the 4G connection is really fast when it wants to be but in some places, it will be death in the valley. For instance, I could be driving in a rural area and see a cell tower and it works beautifully.

For example, I was in Dallas visiting friends and I had full strength on my display but I could not get a connection to the Web or send an e-mail, or anything, hum go figure. At the end of the day, this model was well worth the money I paid for it.
