Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

If you haven't already figured it out by reading my Weekly Wrap-Up posts, I've been on quite the reading binge lately. I seem to be speeding through a book every day or two. Part of it is my Kindle Paperwhite, and how easy it is to read a few pages (or chapters) here and there, and part of it is that I've been sick and resting a lot more than usual.

Long before computational systems-which is coming to mean all systems-long before such systems were virtual, Turing took the abstract, invisible conditions of mathematical logic and formalized it into the physical: first as text, then as mechanics, later as electrons.

But that upswing in reading-through-technology is also taking place as parents are worried that students aren't doing enough reading for fun. Just 47 percent of parents said they were satisfied with the amount of time their children spent reading for fun, down from 58 percent two years ago. And when children read for pleasure, they usually aren't doing it with e-books. Eighty percent of children surveyed said they rely on print books for fun reading, as opposed to just 20 percent who either read through e-books or a combination of e-books and print.

I can't explain the need to always find more books to read although I think sometimes I appreciate Library books for the deadline and structure they give me. When I bring home books, I can add them to my list of books to be read, but if I don't get to them for awhile, it's no big deal, cause they'll still be there. Oh, but library books require you read them within a certain time period or you will be charged money! So until all my library books are turned in, I put other books aside(usually) and JUST read those. About the only times in my life I actually follow a set order!

So, to everyone who's recently emailed me, and has not heard back yet, I'm sorry. I will get to your email, but it's going to take me some time to read them all and reply individually (which I feel everyone deserves even if the book does not appeal to me). I hate form emails and imagine that authors and publishers hate form rejections. Have you ever gotten this behind before? Is it just me, or is saying 'no' really hard to do?

The Ins And Outs of Differentials

A differential is the tool that sets apart the torque of the engine in two means so as each output can rotate at a varying speed. You can often notice this in many all-wheel-drive & full four-wheel-drive automobiles these days.

From a technical perspective, the whole set of wheels on your car turn at varying speeds. Suppose you're doing a right turn at an easy; the inner wheels have a substantially less short distance to travel when compared to the ones on the other side. The system to determine speed is the distance that is traveled divided by the time it will take to travel that length. If you have either Rear-Wheel-Drive or Front-Wheel-Drive, then you do not need to concern yourself with it. As they spin separately, there is no contact between them.

The wheels which are driven are attached: the engine & the transmission can rotate both wheels all at once. If your car does not have differentials, this would make the wheels that are driven to be shut together. This implies the wheels have to spin simultaneously, causing you to have issues when you jump into driveways, edges, and so on.

The most typical differential is considered the "open differential". Say you're just driving straight with no other place to turn, each of your drive wheels are clearly rotating at precisely the same speed, right? There is something termed as Input Pinion that is rotating the cage & the ring gear. This pinion is smaller compared to the ring gear & the cage, meaning it's the only gear loss in your car or truck. So say you're driving on thin ice (hopefully you are not), you will prefer to begin in either second or third gear so the gearing in your transmission will constrain the amount of torque available to your automobiles. Even if you are going off-roading, your differentials may lead to some stress. If you have had a truck that's four-wheel-drive with an open differential at the front and the back, you could get stranded. Notice, when you are going down those cliffs and one of the back tires will get off the ground, they will continue spinning in mid-air so you really can't stop.

There's something identified as LSD (Limited Slip Differential), or positraction, that actually works by giving more torque to the non-slipping wheel; so, you'll be sufficiently fine when you're in off-roading.

How Compression Socks Could Benefit Sonic

When it comes to video game characters we love to control, speed is one of the biggest factors to consider. After all, are you going to have a whole lot of fun if you're controlling someone who moves at the pace of a snail? Fortunately for Sonic the Hedgehog, he only not moves fast but it's possible that he can break the sound barrier at the velocity he moves. He runs constantly, though, which makes me want to recommend compression socks to him that much more.

I remember when Sonic the Hedgehog first came about; it almost seemed like the war between he and Mario kicked off instantly and people were instantly choosing sides. Some of them enjoyed Mario even still while others was jumping on the bandwagon of the blue hedgehog. Regardless of which side was chosen, people couldn't ignore that Sonic was quick on his feet. There were many games at the time which moved at the sort of breakneck pace that the hedgehog was known for.

Sonic has the ability to travel across other surfaces, so don't think that land is where it ends. He's been able to move upon water with great speed, utilizing momentum as well in order to keep himself from falling beneath said water. The problem is that this kind of environment is detrimental to Sonic, mostly because he cannot swim on his own. It has to be disheartening for Sonic, especially when compared to Mario who has the ability to swim whilst underwater.

I don't think that there's a single character in gaming that can make use of compression socks nearly as much as Sonic the Hedgehog.
