So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

There are several long arm quilting services that offer very high quality products for very reasonable prices.

The most basic form of the quilt is made using with the whole cloth being a single piece. Although this is its basic form, it may not necessarily be easy to produce. That is because it should be designed so that the patterns cover up the entire cloth, making it one of the most time consuming patterns to make.

Today, people find all kinds of uses for quilts instead of using them the traditional way as wall hangings and for beds. You could find quilt sizes ranging from small stool coverings to large ones that could cover an entire bed. There are many quilts that have been done to resemble copies of famous portraits that are suitable for wall hangings as well.

The invention of sewing machines changed the clothing and quilting industry forever. In the primitive stages of machine producing quilts, the entire product was hand sewn except the quilt top, which was the only thing to be machine pieced. In fact, for many years, machine made quilts were frowned upon, and only handmade quilts were considered to be properly made; but, nowadays, almost all quilts for sale are machine made.

The reason for this is fabric tends to stretch on one side of the triangle when sewing. But, triangle shapes can be used to create a wide number of patterns, and therefore, is worth the effort of putting them together. In fact, the number of patchwork-quilt patterns you could create out of square and triangle shapes is so high that you will not have to repeat a pattern for many years to come.

Another way to earn an income through this trade is by offering classes for beginners who would like to make their own quilts but do not know how. The demand for such classes is on the rise because the popularity of quilts is skyrocketing. Start with your own community and expand your class eventually.

Although you could find many traditional patterns, you could create your own patterns as well because there are no restrictions to what you can do design wise. In quilt shows, there are separate sections for modern quilts, traditional quilts, and art quilts. Therefore, people who wish to make quilts would have many options ahead of them.

However, the most often seen quilt block pattern would probably be the Nine Patch block. It is made by using only nine blocks of smaller squares stitched together in rows of three. Most long arm quilting services produce quilts in such patterns that may make an excellent addition to your home.
