So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Holidays in cuba

By Jose Mauricio Maurette

Many people come to Cuba to enjoy its rich cultural values and the work of its musicians, artists and dancers; to explore its cities and heritage sites; to savour its cuisine; to participate in the many international conferences, congresses and summits; to get marry or spend a honeymoon or simply because they want to share in the Cuban people's obvious enjoyment of life.

The Cuban archipelago consist of the island of Cuba, the isle of Youth and around 4195 other cays and islets for a total land area of 42,854 square miles (110,992 square kilometres).

Various tones of blue and green combine to form a perfect setting at each of the Cuban beaches, weather pristine or developed; warm or cool; and with golden, white or dark sand - but always enchanting and filled with legends and things to explore.

Thousands of coral formations surround the archipelago, forming the habitat of more than a thousand species of fish, 200 varieties of sponges, 59 varieties of Coral as well as thousands of crustaceans and molluscs' species.

Scuba diving in Cuba is based on the principle of conserving its underwater ecosystems. Many areas of access to this activity are protected areas with a wide range of facilities: accommodation, ports and water sport bases.

Cuba counts 236 protected areas, which cover 22 percent-around 10,328 square miles of the country's territory. They include the Valley of Viales in Pinar del Rio (a world heritage site by UNESCO) and several other areas that have been awarded the category of World Biosphere Preserves.

From the sea enormous fortresses welcome you. At their feet, you will find cobblestone streets, pillars, balconies, arches and balustrades - building in a riot of styles.

These are just some reasons why Cuba can be a perfect destination for your next holidays. There is a universe of options that you can go for. If you fancy swimming with dolphins, relaxing on a beach or simple soak up the atmosphere of its vibrant cities you have that for granted.
