Even if you have never visited Southwest Louisiana, you probably know about the Cajuns and how much food and drink are a part of their culture. Amanda is a late-twenties Cajun...a career woman and mother...who gives away gallons of her spiced tea mix during the Christmas season.
For many, Amanda's tea is more welcome than Santa. And, it does not take a chef, or even a good cook, to make.
First, pour a a cup of powdered instant tea mix into a large bowl. Amanda uses Nestea, but other brands may be worth a try.
Add two cups of Tang. Again, you may try a similar brand if you are a risk taker or you can use sugar free Tang if you or any of your friends or family members are diabetic.
Next, pour two cups of sugar or a sugar free sweetener into the bowl containing the powdered tea and the Tang.
For your final step...see how quick and easy this is...add a packet of lemonade powder and mix everything together. Store the final mixture in plastic or glass containers. Whenever you want a great drink, heat a cup of water and add the mixture to suit your taste. Most folks like about two teaspoons full.
Your family and friends will love the unique taste and cheerful orange color. And, do not be surprised if everyone asks you for the recipe.
