So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Need an Concept For a Green Quilt? Here's A Couple!

By Jane Green

When considering the quilts that I had mad over my many years, whether it was patchwork, themed or patterned, I attempted to think how many green ones I had made... And to my astonishment, I couldn't remember making even one green quilt.

After coming to this realization, I could find no good reason for not having one and became hell bent on beginning one. I sat down with my pencil and pad and recorded two ideas for my green quilt.

Link Theme

I have a nephew who is really into his Nintendo. One of the games I've seen him play is a game called Zelda : Twilight Princess. The primary personality of this game is a little fellow called Link.

He dresses mainly in green, with a bit of brown. The graphics on this game were fairly straightforward, with smooth edges and not a lot of detail. Making a quilt with Link in one of the forest theme levels would be quite straightforward and would mainly feature a green design.

On top of this, my nephew would be thrilled to bits with a blanket like this. thigsa and other things oh yeah... things and stuff and more stuff

A Vine Blanket thigns accepting

Taking a more nature themed approach, I invented the concept of using vines to form the pattern of a quilt. You might have them criss-cross or simply grow in random directions across the quilt.

When you've decided the way the vines will go, add some leaves to every one of the vines to add some texture to your green quilt. It truly implies a great free form design.

Now I am not going to tell you which idea I ended up going with, but I'm sure that I'm going to at last use all of them, as I love them both! Thing and stuff oh yep baby
