I also like the little water bottle they give you, which holds two "recharges". Yes, they have figured out how much water you can add to keep cool without water dribbling from the unit. Only minor glitch is that the USB cable is too short! I bought a new one from Radio Shack and it's 4 feet long.
Stumbled across this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It is terrific! I would like to personally thank the makers of Handy Cooler for making life so much more comfortable! Handy Cooler cools the air for real, not exactly at the level of an actual air conditioner, but much more than any mini-fan. I had to replace the batteries twice though. The Handy Cooler is nice to have and definitely better than nothing, better than a hand-held fan, and better than a water spray bottle with a fan. What a clever little device. The wet sponge does cool the air that blows rather pleasantly. My fellow cubical clerks look at this thing and I see from their eyes they want to steal it. Too bad I lock it in my drawer every day after work. Temperatures have gotten surprisingly hot so early this year. The Handy Cooler cools you down quite well and is easy to use.
This is what you call a personal fan. It's small and portable with strong cooling capabilities.
Got this from Westfield last week and I don't regret getting it. It was the same price as Amazon but at least I saved my shipping fees. Outside in 100 degree heat, it doesn't make much of a dent if not right AT your face, but on a beach vacation, or at a sporting event it's perfect to hold and keep you much cooler. Just bring the little bottle for refills!
The "patent pending" sponge. It is just a cheap sponge.
From now on, I will hesitate on believing Amazon reviews because either the company is making fake reviews or they simply only post positive reviews. To elaborate: You have two options when using this fan; you can plug it in to a USB port on your pc or use batteries.
The sponge smells a little when you first turn it on but you get used to it. The strap is awkwardly placed and the speed dial is located too low for my normal thumb placement. I live in the Mojave Desert and as such carry something to keep me cool, and this is perfect. The company was quick to address any questions I had and as such I have bragged and shared this little gem with all my friends, and in turn 4 of my friends have purchased one for themselves!
