So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Do You Want To Decorate Your Home?

By Craig K Edwardson

Good interior design improves the look of your home with minimal effort. The smallest of changes can go a long way. For instance, a new coat of paint can revitalize a room. Continue reading to discover excellent tips for renovating your home.

Remember to take time to analyze the fabrics that you will be using. Chances are, you will have these items for quite some time, so spending a couple extra weeks can save you time and money.

A good pedestal tub can make a great addition to your bathroom. They are popular fixtures, and provide a touch of timeless beauty in the space. You can add a shower attachment that you can hold in your hand, or you could fix the shower onto an extending pole. You can find options at any local hardware store.

Multipurpose rooms in the house can help make the elements of the house work better if you rooms that are small in size. For example, it's common to see the living and dining rooms combined into a single space in many homes. If your home is like this, make sure the dining room table matches the coffee table. If you can, do your furniture shopping for both rooms at the same time. Pick out accents for both rooms that complement each other, too.

If you're planning on painting a room, don't rush! Rushing could cause you to make some poor color choices. Paint your wall with a few samples and let them stay for a few days. Get an idea of how the different samples appear in different types of light. You may find that you don't love a color quite as much as you did at first.

Consider the size of the bedroom when you are choosing the size of bed you buy. A tiny room with a king size bed will be too cramped. It will also prevent you from putting other pieces of furniture in it.

When it comes to interior design, it helps to take advice from high-profile designers with a grain of salt and follow your own instincts. You need to listen to your own instinct as to what you will enjoy, as this is your home, not theirs.

Invest in great artwork for a classy look. You may not have considered art before, or may not care for it. However, one good painting or print can really pull a room together. Paintings are a great way to set the foundation for your room.

Avoid furniture designs and finishes that are excessively trendy if you're spending the money to buy furniture that's going to last a long time. You can add accessories that are fun and modern, and they'll go with the more classic pieces.

Plan out how much you want to use on your project before starting it. If you do not maintain the finances for your new design, you will hit a lot of road blocks. A budget will help reduce stress throughout the process.

If your home feels small and cramped, find out if you can raise the ceilings. It's often possible to take ceilings right up to the roof structure if you're willing to sacrifice attic space. This will also make your room look brighter as more light will be reflected throughout the room.

No matter how you would like your home to feel and look, you can achieve your goals through interior design. Lighting and furniture are just two of the many things to think about. Keep these tips in mind so you can design your home any way you want it.
