There are plenty of glorious restaurants in Dublin but many of them are very dear but it is possible to get really good food at much less expensive restaurants across the town.
Whether your preference is for fish and chips, Chinese, Italian, Indian or Thai cuisine you'll find a very keenly priced restaurant in Dublin.
Fish and chips is potentially not the most trendy of dishes presently however it remains an old favorite in the town and there's no place better than Beshoffs in O'Connell Street to get it. Beshoffs has been serving fresh fish for almost a hundred years and this is where you will get real old-style cod, haddock or whatever is the catch of the day. Put together with freshly cut and cooked chipped potatoes and you get one of the heartiest and scummiest meals you'll find.
Jimmy Chungs on Eden Dock is a Chinese restaurant which is superb value. They have got a good range of dishes on the menu and they serve them in buffet style. For one price you can eat as much as you need and come back for more . This is a good choice of place to eat if you are hungry and on a limited budget.
Pizzas of varying quality and taste can be discovered anywhere in the city. These include all the big brand names which are satisfactory except for a good pizza I might go to Drumcondra to The Independent Pizza Company. Here you get a very huge meal on an excellent base with lots of succulent toppings to choose between.
Another 'Eat all you would like ' place is the Mongolian Barbecue in Temple Bar. You choose from a large variety of meats including pork, meat and chicken and from various vegetables, sauces and spices and hand them to the cook who stir fries them on a flat hot-plate while you watch. It takes only a few minutes to supply a flavorful meal which you can eat with rice. When you're finished you can repeat the method as frequently as you like, using a different mixture of ingredients if you wish. This is a very cheap technique of getting a very tasty meal.
One of my favourite cuisines is Indian and there are numerous probabilities of sampling their food throughout the town. Of the ten or so Indian restaurants I have eaten in my favorite has to be The Afsana. This is located in the Temple Bar area of the city and I am keen on it because the food is commonly of the same high standard and there's a great variety on the menu. As well as that, they always serve good size portions and it is not so expensive.
The Thai Orchid on Westmoreland Street is a favorite with both locals and travellers. This well established restaurant is found over three floors and in the background you can hear authentic with Thai music. The chefs are Thai natives and the free use of coconut, lemon grass and chili bring an authentic flavour to all of their dishes. There is a great choice on the menu and the prices are reasonable. Some of my favorite dishes here are Red Curry Chicken, Beef In Oyster Sauce, Prawn In Sweet & Sour Sauce, and Crispy Duck With Tamarind Sauce.
The town has all of the world famous fast food outlets and takeaways and it's actually possible to find a restaurant from nearly every country in the world . There are several good Spanish Restaurants and Tapas Bars, Japanese Sushi restaurants, French, Vietnamese, American, Moroccan, Lebanese and many others across the city so there is a taste and price range to suit everyone.
