So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Hyundai to focus more on families in US

By Cornelius Nunev

Hyundai's CEO in the United States said last week that, in its drive to keep sales brisk stateside, the automaker would cool off on entering the pickup segment and concentrate more on six and seven passenger crossover SUV.

Continuing high revenue at Hyundai

Hyundai Motors North The United States had a good year in 2011. Besides enjoying high sales, the automaker's Elantra was named the 2012 North American Car of the Year. The car maker wants to keep that momentum going by concentrating on the needs of the United States market.

Producing sure families get vehicles too

Retired individuals and young people both have already begun interest in Hyundai. It is doing very well in both of those markets. However, Hyundai does not have a ton of vehicles accessible for families. That is why the brand new focus will be on family vehicles, according to Hyundai North The United States CEO John Krafcik. He told this to Fox News at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show on Thurs.

Krafcik explained:

"It's probably fair to say we need more presence in the six and seven passenger crossover segment where we have the Veracruz now."

The only three-row automobile that Hyundai sells is the Veracruz. This is because it stopped selling the Entourage minivan in 2010. In 2011, Hyundai's sister business Kia sold 130,235 Sorrentos. In that same year, Hyundai only sold 8,146 units of the Veracruz.

Many auto market segments

Hyundai already has models pandering to more than a dozen segments of the automotive industry, from luxury sedans to subcompacts. The business introduced two brand new additions to its lineup at the Chicago show last week: a coupe and a five-door hatchback version of the popular Elantra model. The Veloster Turbo was also added to the maker's lineup during the last year. A new Santa Fe is also expected to debut at the New York Auto Show.

Not getting into the truck industry

In the past, Hyundai has hinted that putting trucks in the United States industry are in the plans. Those plans are not going through right now though.

Krafcik said:

"We're not a big truck player. I like to say brands define themselves as much by what they choose not to do as what they chose to do. We could be a truck player if we wanted to; we choose to focus on more fuel efficient segments of the market."
