So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

My Secret To Crafting a Life Of Better Apparel

By Jose Guitian

You can find clothing and accessories designed for women who have had mastectomies, double mastectomies, and lumpectomies. Looking good will improve your self-confidence and help you feel better. In addition to undergarments and sleepwear, there is also specially designed swimwear.

For the first week or two after a mastectomy, you'll be wearing a special camisole. It is made out of a soft material to avoid aggravating delicate, healing skin. It also accommodates the drain that will have been inserted during the surgery. Once the tissue has healed, you'll probably want to look into post-mastectomy bras and camisoles.

Breast forms and prostheses are two ways to mimic breast tissue. Mastectomy bras and camisoles have pockets in them designed to hold breast forms. Breast forms are made out of silicone or poly-fils. You attach a prosthesis with adhesive to your chest. A prosthesis fits under fashion bras and shirts.

A weighted breast form not only keeps a bra in place by providing weight, it also moves naturally, while an unweighted breast form is much easier to carry. Are weighted or unweighted breast forms or prostheses better? One advantage of a weighted breast form is that it keeps your body balanced by providing weight on the side of the body without a breast. This isn't just a cosmetic issue. Unequal weight distribution can lead to back and neck pain down the road.

There are breast forms designed specifically for swimming. They are made of a lighter weight silicone with more buoyancy so as not to get too heavy in the water. They are also built to withstand salt or chlorinated water and sun. To prolong their life, wash and dry them thoroughly after use and store them carefully. You can find mastectomy swimwear designed by several different clothing companies. Their wider straps and higher necklines cover scars. They'll also have breast form pockets. If you find a swimsuit you like that does not have pockets already, see if the department store offers alteration services to add them.

There a few other things to consider. It is important to avoid excessive sun exposure when you are getting radiation and/or chemotherapy. Radiation treatment can cause localized skin sensitivity while chemotherapy can cause all of your skin to be extra-sensitive to the sun. Make sure your face and head are protected by wearing a hat with a wide brim. Protect your neck and chest with a lightweight scarf. Long sleeve shirts will protect your arms while long pants and skirts will protect your legs.

These clothing items should be made of tightly woven fabrics that can breathe, like cotton and silk, to cover your skin without holding in too much heat. Avoid clothing made out of wool and fabrics with a rough weave.
