So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Successfully Thrashing Senioritis

By Jason Larrsohn

Senior year at ASU can be a fun and exciting time for many college students, but senior year can likewise be stressful, frustrating, and challenging if a college student does not know how to adequately prepare for senior year. Preparing for senior year at ASU does not have to be a massive project, but it should be something that takes and individual some time as they think through what aspects to senior year they need to plan out.

And, not coincidentally, the first step to a successful senior year at Arizona State University is to plan for the final two semesters of college. Planning, if you have not learned by now, is a quality preparation method and a concept that will serve you far beyond senior year of college.

A graduating student from Arizona State can fight back, however, against the damaging effects of senioritis by implementing a few new tricks to round out their college career. The first step that a college senior can take toward conquering senioritis is by planning ahead for it.

Events throughout the school year such as assignment due dates, test dates, and senior projects should all be planned for as soon as the student knows the required timetable for their completion. While these items of importance will need to be planned for in detail, other items on the senior's to do list can have less planning involved.

By planning their time with this senior condition in mind, a student will be able to do things like schedule in vacations or breaks where they think they will need them and likewise schedule in periods when they have to buckle down and get some work done.

How much of the world do you know for yourself and how much is your perception built on things you don't believe in? If you don't know the answers to these questions, they'll soon be put to the test.If you haven't disciplined or opened your mind, you'll have quite a learning curve by the time you reach school. Remember that getting in and wearing the Arizona State clothing is just the beginning: everything else takes preparation.

Understanding that too much work and school can leave almost anyone burned out and frustrated, along with scheduling out the important academic deadlines, it is still needful to purposely plan recreational activities like the ones listed above. By planning out a proper balance between recreational time and work or study time, a senior student can be assured that they will be less likely to fade from their academics and subsequently fail their last year of schooling.

It is important too to take time off when needed throughout the school year, even if it is not on the schedule. Nothing extended, mind you, but, for example, on a hard day of classes when you are feeling burned out consider going to the campus bookstore or fan shop and doing some casual shopping for a new Arizona State t-shirt or some interesting reading material.

Volunteer mentoring programs exist in many of the nation's colleges and universities including Arizona State and can be an excellent way for a senior to give back to their school while simultaneously keeping themselves focused through the last stretch of school.
