So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Tips For Choosing The Correct Motorcycle Hauler For What You Need

By Bernice Terry

Take a moment and think, chances are you have never heard of a person buying a bike for a motorcycle hauler they already own. As a rule most people will buy themselves a hauler only after they have a bike to haul. It is critical to consider all your options before spending your hard earned money on something that could, if not properly constructed, damage your bike.

The reasons for buying one are as different as there are various people. Some dread the thought of going cross country while braving the harsh wind and the wet rain. Some feel it is too dusty, too hot or cold to enjoy the ride. It could just be a maintenance vs money issue, lower miles on the bike will mean it should last much longer and be more valuable in the future should you decide to sell it.

When somebody decides to acquire a bike trailer one of the different things they should think about is if the trailer should be open or closed. It is really surprising how people can spend so many hours cleaning their bikes up and dislike strange people getting around it and decide to move it from place to place on an open trailer. A closed trailer will often cost more but will also protect the cargo from any elements.

You should also think about what vehicle you will use to pull the trailer with. Small cars will use less fuel but will only pull a smaller lightweight trailer over hills. If you own a bigger more powerful v-8 car or truck a larger trailer could be used successfully.

Another item is if you should buy a double or single type carrier. Many singles are constructed just for carrying only one motorcycle and with gear. They are usually much lighter and smaller. Many doubles can take two motorcycles with gear, though they may move one at slow speeds for small distances. They are built stronger and heavier than most singles.

As a rule most trailers are constructed from two different types of materials, steel and aluminum. Of the two aluminum is the lighter, but can make for a rougher ride down the road. They have a habit of shaking and rattling a lot. Steel trailers are generally built stronger, but can weigh considerately more. Be careful though, just because it is steel does not mean it is well built.

Nothing is more frustrating than carefully researching something buying it and taking it home only to realize it is junk. Talk to your friends to see what they use. Most bike shops are a good source of advice as well. If you can see if you can rent it, or one like it to see how well it works.

Always check over the motorcycle hauler to make sure it is what you want before you purchase it. Consider how you plan to use it and how long you will keep it. Keep this in mind too, in the end people typically will always get what they pay for.
