So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Car Transmission Maintenance And Check 101

By Steve Zones

When it comes to transmission repair, you can't get an immediate estimate on the cost. First of all, you need to know where the problem is and if there are parts that need to be changed. It's only when you bring in your vehicle for diagnosis will you know how much money you'll need to shell out. We get it, you don't like thinking about the expenses, but the more you delay the repair, the worse the damage becomes.

So, here's a yearly checklist you need to look at so you can properly maintain your car's health. Remember, the transmission's main job is to transfer the power from the engine to the wheels. If you know how to do the following, then you'll save yourself from a lot of trouble in the long run:

1. Look at the car's guide meticulously Make a copy in the glove compartment. If you've lost it, it is possible to get the whole handbook from the web. Read it and get comfortable with the car's primary components, one of which is the transmission. Pay special focus on the specific model and make you have. Your car needs this once you've driven it anywhere from 30,000 to 60,000 miles. It really depends on what the manufacturer recommends. Ask your expert mechanic for advice.

2. Heat the engine fluids This can be done by driving the vehicle around for a minimum of 20 mins. Then, park the vehicle on a flat surface and keep the engine working while you open the cover. Ensure that the cover is correctly propped to prevent mishaps. Now, search for the transmission and withdraw the dipstick. The pan is removed before the fluid inside is replaced. The filter should also be changed because dust, grime, and sludge have accumulated in the old one. The technician also does a quick once-over to see if there are problems

3. Check the transmission fluid Wipe the dipstick clean with a rag and insert it in the reservoir. The transmission fluid should be reddish. See to it that the levels are within range and that the fluid doesn't emit any strange smell. If it looks burned or milky, then you know it's time to bring the car in for servicing.

4. Take notice of the odometer readings This lets you know when the vehicle's maintenance is due. Fundamentally, it's the perfect time to call the auto mechanic when you've operated your vehicle for 24,000 kms. Don't let proper transmission maintenance deter you from visiting the mechanic. Just remember one thing: you're actually spending so much less than an actual repair.

Check the clutch especially while changing the gears. Spend enough time to check the vehicle in order to avoid major problems in future.
