So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Delicious And Luxurious Champagne Chocolate Truffles

By Katrina Wheeler

Back in 1947, when Champagne chocolate truffles were first made, allegedly by Adolf Teuscher, whose family had a sweets factory and still make these lovely sweets today, it was a big hit. These incredibly tasty balls instantly became popular. Beautiful and ideally balanced aromas of high quality champagne and expensive chocolates is still highly appreciated.

Original dessert was made using dark chocolate ganache, with a champagne cream filling. Everything was surrounded with smooth milk chocolates and dusted with powdered sugar. This traditional recipe is popular all around the world, and you will find numerous variations and attempts to recreate the original. The important thing is that you will enjoy in every single one of them.

Sometimes you will find beautifully shaped truffles, but originals are always hand-made, and irregularly shaped, just like the real truffles. White or dark or even milk chocolates are always so tasteful, especially in this lovely combination. Some truffles are even decorated with eatable gold, and they really make highly luxurious desserts.

Some complicated recipes are quite difficult to make at home, and some are really simple, but still tasty. You can add cognac, white chocolate, olive oil instead of butter and many other ingredients there, it all depends on your taste and imagination. If you have some experience in making sweets, you could create your own recipes.

You can try making your own version at home. Three hundred grams of dark chocolate with very large percentage of cocoa should be melted in one hundred grams of reduced champagne. When everything is smooth and shiny, you should add fifty grams of butter in it and leave it to cool. If you want sweeter dessert, add some sugar in wine first. Form small balls and roll them in powdered sugar or in fine cocoa powder.

This recipe is little more complicated. You need to reduce the same quantity of wine with a little bit of sugar and leave it to cool. Mix butter and powdered sugar until white, and add into reduced wine. The mixture should be frozen. Steam melt dark chocolates with the addition of cream. When cold, it should have the consistency of a thick paste. Make small balls of frozen mixture and wrap them with dark mixture. Dust the balls with powdered sugar.

If you use milk chocolate instead, you don't have to add sugar, but the taste won't be the same. Even so, you won't be disappointed. This dessert is usually made using the highest quality ingredients. It is often hand-made, and quite expensive, but you won't be sorry once when you taste it. Complex but delicate taste will be a real pleasure for your palate.

Champagne chocolate truffles make an ideal gift for your dearest ones, and you won't make a mistake if you give a box of them to someone you appreciate. Smooth and delicious, they melt in the mouth, and they really are the most incredible treat for your palate. This lovely, complex and delicate taste is something you will immensely enjoy every single time.
