So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Shopping At A Gluten Free Bakery RI

By Angela Briggs

Anyone who visits a gluten free bakery RI will be amazed and delighted by the tremendous variety of goods. Everything from loaves of bread to cakes and cookies line the shelves. In the past few years there has been a growing awareness of the problems associated with eating wheat flour. Although many people experience no side effects, a growing number of people are being diagnosed with an intolerance to wheat.

It is typically not until families are faced with this situation that they realize how common gluten is in our foods today. They have to read the labels very carefully to avoid accidentally consuming the substance. Having a local store devoted to producing everything without the use of wheat flours will make their lives so much easier. This is especially true for those who have children who are also affected.

Many bakeries are now using more creative ingredients. These range from almond flour to quinoa flour. Quinoa is a standard food in many South American countries where it is ground to make breads and other staples. It is high in nutrition, but without many of the negative aspects of traditional flours. It is available for purchase from many health food stores and can also be purchased on line.

Some people prefer the health benefits of almond flour. This is a very nutritious and low sugar alternative that is perfect for baking. However, one of the main drawbacks is that many people are allergic to tree nuts. This means that many schools do not allow their students to bring in food made with almond flour. It is also quite expensive and many people use it for making special occasion cakes for birthdays and holidays.

Bean flours are now being used quite often. They are very healthy, low sugar and do not create allergy issues. They are also easy to work with and versatile. Many bakers also like to experiment with different things such as spelt, the ancient grain. Spelt has been used for thousands of years in baking breads. Buckwheat flour is also a popular choice. Each one seems to lend itself to something different and can be used in a number of ways.

Frequenting a local bakery is a wonderful experience. Clients get to know the staff and soon everyone feels like friends. Many small bakeries are putting the heart and soul back into inner city areas. They provide not only a much needed service but also help to create a sense of belonging. All the family enjoys a visit to their local bakery to pick out a special treat and sit outside during the summer months.

Many bakeries will also make a special gluten free birthday cake for a child who is intolerant. They will be able to celebrate their special day with friends and a wonderful cake designed to their own special needs. Carrot and zucchini cakes are not only delicious but also nutritious.

Anyone looking for delicious wheat free breads and cakes should seek out their local gluten free bakery RI to try the selections. There are so many wonderful treats that everyone in the family will find some new favorites.
