So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What You Need To Know About Selling To Scrap Car Buyers

By Henry Green

Some owners drive their old cars until there is almost nothing left of them. If you own one of these cars, and are ready to part with it, knowing you would not get anything from a used car dealer, you should think about scrap car buyers. You need to learn how these businesses work in order to keep your expectations realistic.

You need to understand that most salvage yards and cash for cars outfits are primarily interested in the weight of the vehicle. You might have tinkered around with the car yourself and installed some new parts in hopes of getting it running again. This isn't going to increase the value of the vehicle for a junk auto buyer.

It's not going to matter that the air conditioning is working or you have a custom stereo system. These may have value in the parts market, but not when you are selling a vehicle for salvage. In the same vein, you won't impress a salvage yard into offering you more because the vehicle is still operable. Salvage yards are mostly concerned with metal recycling.

Selling the parts yourself is an option for those who are auto mechanically minded and with nothing else to do. You'll make more money selling the parts, but you need to factor in the labor intensity involved. You have to drain all the fluids and pull out the engine, wires, seats, and transmission for starters.

The best scenario is one in which you've already found a buyer for the parts. If you haven't, the parts will need to be stored until they're sold. You need to do the research in order to find out what those parts you're selling go for in the surrounding area.

The fastest way to get rid of your junker is usually selling to a salvage yard. You can find the nearest one by going online and searching for them using your zip code. Most of them pick up cars for free and pay cash on the spot. They will even handle the paperwork for you.

The amount of money you get for your junker and its parts will depend on what kind of vehicle it is. If you are selling a make and model that has been, or was, around for years without a lot of changes to it, you won't get as high an offer for it as you would for something rarer. The parts for mass produced cars are usually plentiful, which lowers the price of them. You may have to do some shopping around to find a dealer who has an interest in the particular parts you are selling.

Even small things can affect the amount of money you get for a junker. The region of the country is one. Certain cars are popular in certain parts of the country and not in others. If a tow truck has to travel a long distance to pick up your vehicle, the price offered will go down. You might save some money by driving the vehicle, if it's operational, to the salvage yard yourself.
