The financial recession that happened, recently took my life for a sharp turn. Along the hundred other people, I got laid off and found myself jobless. Fortunately for me, I have several things going on for me: I already have a car of my own, a house I've inherited, and a part-time business I manage alongside my girlfriend.
My girlfriend and I have been selling her crafts at various craft fairs for a couple of years now. Back then, it represented partial income that we are able to invest together, but at this point, we've decided to use it for the time being for our everyday use. Until the financial recession blows away, we should be content with what we currently have in our favor.
The cheapness of the material my girlfriend used to make her handcrafted jewelry ensures that people will continue to purchase from us even though the financial recession means that a thrifty attitude has been adopted by most people. Our selling location near the beaches of Florida also helps; the areas have a laid-back aura that reduces the fear of spending.
Until I am well assured that I can get back to working in an office again, I am pretty content with the business of selling my girlfriend's handmade crafts. This way, we bond almost everyday, and our relationship is thus strengthened. We get the work done efficiently; she sees to making the crafts, whilst I see to it that we have good relations with the other booths, as well as talking and arranging everything with the event organizers.
The challenges of life do not cause me to stop; rather, it inspires me to move forward. Whereas some of my officemates that were similarly laid off now sit back and relax, I'm back out there, doing what I can.
