There are so many laptop backpacks in the market that I couldn't find one that made a difference. So I bought the SwissGear Black/Gray Computer Backpack and I was surprised to find that it's actually a very good buy. Read this review to learn why I love it.
Design
The bag is very plain and simple, and it looks as though it has nothing special to offer. But it's very functional. It has a weight of around 2.3 pounds and the dimensions of 9'' x 14'' x 18.5''. It can fit as wide as 15.4'' laptops, and keep the devices secure and snug inside the laptop pocket. The bag has a side snap closure to keep the bag in shape even with very heavy loads. It's simple, useful, and very good for keeping laptops. The only thing I'm not very satisfied about is the price. I got this for a 50% off sale so I bought it, but if it were offering the original price, you'd never get a buck out of me. Seriously, this bag doesn't look like it costs a hundred bucks.
But even if I did buy it for fifty, I'm still happy with it because it's extremely durable and resistant to daily contact and constant wear and tear. The material is easy to clean, and liquids can easily be wiped off if you act on it quick.
There are three compartments of the bag: a front pocket, an organizer, and the laptop pocket. The front pocket is good for keeping small items that you need at hand, and it keeps you from struggling to find small things in the deeper compartments. The second compartment has an organizer that can easily keep your accessories organized like ball pens, small devices and gadgets, keys, and other essentials.
Color
The bag is mostly black with highlights of gray at the bottom and shoulder straps. This keeps the bag looking good and presentable because it can hide most stains, dust, and marks of wear and tear. It's also very unisex so even if you're a guy or a girl, you can wear this bag without care. People of all ages and professions can also wear it comfortably, varying from students and professors to adolescents and parents.
Other Features
The shoulder straps of the bag are padded to add comfort for the user, and they are also designed to distribute weight evenly to keep the load off the back alone. One shoulder strap has a mobile phone pocket so you can easily keep and use your cell phone at any time. The other shoulder strap has a sunglass holder for more functionality. The back padding is designed with the airflow system which keeps your back cool and ventilated even while wearing the back for a long period of time. There are mesh water bottle pockets at either side which lets you carry your water bottles easily, eliminating the need to squeeze in your water bottles in the compartments and worrying about your stuff getting wet, especially your laptop. There's also an extra pocket for your music gadgets so you can listen to your favorite soundtracks even while carrying the bag.
Conclusion
Although I wouldn't recommend people buy this at its current regular price, I would suggest getting the SwissGear Black/Gray Computer Backpack for those who want a good and useful bag without minding the price. But if you're tight in budget or you're looking for a more sophisticated bag that's worth the price, this baby isn't for you. Nonetheless, I really can't say that this isn't a good bag. I love it and I'm happy with using it especially during trips and vacations.
