Simple bread machine recipes are a boon for all bread-lovers. A bread baking machine has the simplest steps to follow and is extremely easy to maintain. It takes away the hassle of kneading the dough and wondering if I got it right. I also save considerable time if I use the bread machine. I find that bread machine bread has a better and finer texture than the hand-kneaded bread I make. Here is an easy rye bread recipe bread machine that everyone in my family loves.
What you need:
- Water - One cup + 3 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Vinegar - Two tablespoons
- Ground flaxseed powder - Two (2) tablespoons
- Basil - 1 1/2 tablespoons
- Oat flour - 1/2 cup
- Spelt flour - 1 1/2 cups
- Rye flour - 2 cups
- Vital wheat gluten - 2 tablespoons
- Active dry yeast - Two (2) tablespoons
- Salt - One teaspoon
Method:
- Instead of using store-bought oat flour, I really like to make my own fresh oat flour. You can make this at home by grinding rolled oats in a blender.
- Clean out the bread pan and kneading blade.
- Make sure that the pan is dry before you start adding the ingredients.
- Pour the water in the bread pan.
- Next add the vinegar and olive oil.
- Sprinkle the flaxseed powder and basil on top.
- Carefully add the flours over the top of the liquids in such a way that they cover the liquids fully.
- Next add the salt.
- The very last and most crucial step of making bread in the bread baking machine is adding the yeast. The yeast has to be added carefully so it will not come in touch with the liquids at all.
- Cover the bread pan with the lid.
- Set the bread baking machine to run on basic cycle.
- After the cycle is finished, let the bread cool in the pan for approximately 5 minutes.
- Take the bread out of the pan then cut in slices to serve.
- If the bread seems to be too soft then bake it in the oven for a further ten (10) minutes at 350 F for a crusty loaf.
Creamy Swiss cheese spread with the bread is a fantastic dip.
What you need:
- Cream cheese - 300 grams
- Milk - Two tablespoons
- Swiss cheese (finely shredded) - 1/2 cup
- Fresh chives, chopped - One tablespoon
Method:
- Blend the cream cheese and milk till smooth.
- Stir in the cheese and chopped fresh chives.
You can store this dip in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
The rye bread can be eaten as it is, but if you toast it and spread a layer of jam or marmalade over the bread before eating you will enjoy it more.
