So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Prepare Kosher Meals Properly

By Ava Hudson

Different people have different customs and traditions. This can be with the way they dress up or even with the way that they prepare their foods. For those who have friends and guests who eat only those that are considered kosher meals, then it is important for them to find out how these can be prepared.

Nowadays, the market labels these foods already to make it easier for shoppers to find them. Although most people think this is just related to avoiding pork, there is actually more to it than that. There are guidelines that have to be followed properly for this to be prepared and these can be a big help for those who wish to make these meals.

Research is very important for this matter. The people who will be cooking these dishes need to have the right knowledge about this matter so that they can do it properly. This will help them find the right products to use for the meal and to avoid those that are not in accordance with the regulations for this.

Foods that are considered kosher conform with the Jewish dietary law known as Kashrut. According to these rules, the meat that comes from animals that have cloven hooves and chew their own cud are part of this. But, it is also important for these animals to be slaughtered properly according to their rituals for them to be eaten.

There are different meat products that are not kosher and this needs to be avoided. These can include the hare, camel, hyrax and pigs. Winged creatures like birds of prey, water birds that eat fish, and bats, are also considered unclean. Only certain fishes and poultry can be eaten and shellfish are not allowed for this.

For those who would like to cook them, they have to find where they can buy the right ingredients. They have to buy from butchers who know these things and the rituals that needs to be done for them to be clean. It is important for them to get the right meat for this kind of dishes and these are usually from the front parts of the animals.

After getting the meat, they have to drain the blood properly from it. This can be done by broiling or by soaking and salting it. Usually, this process is done by the butchers who specialize in this matter but this can also be done by those who will be preparing the meals for their guests.

It is important for them to prepare the dishes with the use of the right ingredients. Aside from the meat, they can also use vegetables and grains for this. It is very important for them to remember that the meat is not supposed to be mixed with dairy. This is prohibited and it is not even allowed to serve them together in the same table.

When serving kosher meals, it is also important for them to use different sets of utensils and other cookware for the dairy and meat. These foods must never come in contact with one another. By keeping in mind these things, they can surely serve these dishes successfully and everyone can enjoy the meal.
