So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Finding the Best Kosher Restaurants and Food Stores in LA

By Ilan Gez

Be ready to look in doubtful spots when looking for kosher cafes and food stores in the L. A. area. Some of the finest diners are in strip malls and refurbished buildings. Parking can be a challenge. Often it is better to take public transportation, carpool or walk over to your favorite place. Here are some of the favorites.

Kara's Korner Deli on West Foothill Boulevard, Glendora, offers several excellent features. It's a Jewish eatery with good prices. Kara's offers families and pals the opportunity to meet in a casual environment. Call ahead for reservations and experience the out of doors seating, when available. Due to their superb kosher food and friendly staff, they generally tend to get busy. The food is worth the wait.

Bodhi Vegetarian & Vegan Kitchen on West Pico Boulevard, West LA, is a vegan and vegetarian kosher cafe concentrating on Thai foods. The seating is terribly limited. The dcor is OK for a little place in a strip mall. The fair costs, friendly staff and delicious food make up for any sense of being crowded. If you are in a group of three or more, order family-style and increase the dining experience of fresh ingredients. Enjoy a meal at Bodhi's, featuring an informal, alcohol-free environment.

Pico Kosher Deli on West Pico Boulevard, West LA, has an informal atmosphere good for lunch. There isn't any outside seating, alcohol or delivery. Street parking is available. Treat the youngsters to dining out. Friendly service and fresh food make this a great spot to drop by for a sandwich and salad. They do not take reservations, so if it looks like the wait is going to be long, order to go.

Ask for steerage if you have trouble making up your mind about what to order. Enjoy one of the best dining experiences possible.
