So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

The Bathroom Vanity is the Centerpiece

By Alex Zidan

You will not believe this but there is a science when it comes to picking out the right bathroom vanity because it needs to also match the remainder of the house. The vanity mirror is going to attract the most attention because of the impulse of stopping and checking our appearance before exiting the bathroom. You would not think that a mirror would hold as much importance as it does but to tell you the truth it means the whole world to a lot of people when they use the restroom.

This is because the vanity is the one item that is most likely to get noticed inadvertently the most, because people love to check their images in the mirror before they leave. Even if you do not consider yourself vain, you probably take a glance up at yourself while washing your hands. This means that after the necessity items, the bathroom mirror garnishes the most attention from your guests. Now keep in mind that the bathroom is one of the most trafficked areas of your home, and you can see why you will want to take some time on the most important element of your home restroom.

After all, if you knew there was one place in your home that all your guests would have their undivided attention, wouldn't you want to make sure it was perfect? Since you now know ironically that is in the bathroom at your vanity, you will want to make sure the mirror you pick exceeds expectations.

Depending on the new theme you choosen for your new bathroom, the custom bathroom vanity will either help with the design throughout the room or it will end up a disaster because it hindered the flow of the room. When the vanity and mirror are of an opposing style, it is hard for them to compliment each other in the overall theme.

A bathroom design that includes accents made out of wood can be brought together with a vanity that has the same colored stain. With wood used throughout the main items you can create a warm and comfortable atmosphere that you are looking for in your bathroom. When the vanity frame is made out of wood the theme can continue throughout the room without drastic alterations.

Should you continue to stay with the warm wooden theme, you may also place wooden hand towels holders on either sides, or one side of the bathroom vanity mirror so that you continue the accent work around the room. Throw in some nice rich earth colors of tan, red, or green and the theme will continue to pop out around the bathroom. Of course any towel or magazine holder that you have throughout the bathroom should also have the same wooden stain.

If you continue to match the items in your bathroom with the wood on your bathroom vanity and the towel colors, you will quickly watch the room start to come together. To further accent the room, you may choose either silver or gold etching on the glasswork of the vanity depending on what color your fixtures are.

Read This For Help With Organsing a Holiday Trip Online

By Hayley Mills

It is strange how some people do not like to travel too far from home on their vacation while others like to travel as far as possible. Fortunately, there isn't a corner of the earth that doesn't have a travel site dedicated to it so it is easy obtaining information on the internet. It is now true that increasing numbers of people carry out all their travel arrangements using internet web sites. Gone are the days when travel agents were popular and sought after as websites have popped up everywhere and promise all of their customer's extraordinary savings.

There is obviously a great deal of trust required to use the internet this way as often the companies you deal with have never been anything else but an internet based business. I much prefer to deal with someone I can see and touch, that's why I still use my travel agent and I also know they have a real office that I can visit. With a travel agent, I can change my mind about my plans several times, call and ask questions, and have someone to blame should my vacation not turn out to be what I was hoping for. It is difficult complaining to a travel site and almost impossible to actually speak to a real person, plus with today's technology it is almost impossible to say where they are in the world.

They may say something just to appease you and it will not hold true in the end. It is this fear of the problems that can occur and if they do happen it is too late that prevents me from being more trusting in the way that I trust my travel agent. A best friend of mine only books her vacations on travel sites and often she'll book a last minute vacation that a travel site is offering which is one huge advantage of using a travel site. Admittedly, she has save a small fortune this way as she will just look at the sites and be patient until the right vacation comes up at the right price.

It would be nice to do this but my career does not allow for impulsive travel arrangements. Using a travel site does have other advantages as well because while you can save money on the vacation itself, there are also savings to be made on additional excursions and trips as well if pre-booked. Knowing a little about what you want and information about the location you want to travel too can be useful so I still research as much of this as I can online before I pay my travel agent a visit. I take that information and then see a travel agent because at least I know that if my vacation turns out to be a nightmare, I have someone to come back and yell at.

Useful Motorcycle Helmet Tips

By Frank Medley

If you're new to motorcycle riding, or are new to the high tech helmets that are just coming, these simple motorcycle helmet tips will help you to ride with a helmet that can keep you safe.

If you're ready to buy a new helmet, try on some full face helmets. You may think they'll be uncomfortable, but if fitted correctly they're actually much better for a longer ride, and offer the best protection.

The second motorcycle helmet tip concerns certification. A helmet with DOT certification is perfectly safe, and will be able to protect you in most situations. But for the safest helmet on the road, pick a Snell certified helmet.

If safety is a huge concern of yours, you can also get more safety from the appearance of your helmet. Choose a bright solid color that will be easily noticeable, and attach a reflective strip to the back of your helmet.

There are also motorcycle helmet tips for how to treat your helmet after purchase. Never hang your helmet from your handle bars. This will increase the possibility that it will drop and be damaged.

There are a few places you should never leave your helmet. The first is next to the gas tank of your bike, as the vapors let off cause damage. Direct sunlight will also damage your helmet, and it should be stored in the shade.

Always remember to never ride with a damaged helmet, a motorcycle helmet tip that can't be stressed enough. Any helmet that was in an accident, dropped, or that looks damaged won't give you protection in an accident.

These motorcycle helmet tips will help you to keep riding safely. Don't forget that when on your bike, the helmet is the only protection your head has got, so you and any passengers should wear one always.

Bali Blinds Are The Dream Of Modern Windows

By Molly Miller

How nice your huge windows are! Thanks to them, your rooms are full of light and the sun is smiling to your family every morning. But so are your neighbors, so you may feel the need for a little privacy here. This is where Bali blinds come into play.

In the world of window coverings, Bali blinds are amongst the most famous manufacturers. They are a company with tradition and always striving for improvement. Innovation is at home at Bali Blinds company.

There are many types of window blinds. Depending on the materials, we have wooden blinds, faux wood blinds, textile shades, aluminum blinds or cellular blinds. Cellular blinds are the best in terms of insulation and keeping the temperature constant inside the room.

Many blinds, shades and curtains don't darken the rooms completely. They just filter the light, creating a comfortable and stylish effect. If you want full darkness, you'll have to buy special blinds or shutters. It is your choice.

It is well-known that humid weather is one of the biggest enemies of wood. Therefore, wooden blinds in rainy areas like the tropical ones may be a very bad idea. Take care and do some research, as there are materials like the faux wood which are resistant to water.

Window treatments give interior decorators a lot of possibilities to create innovative and beautiful interiors, because they have a lot of elements to be matched in order to create the desired effect. Blinds are always fashionable. Besides, they are easy to install and to operate.

Cleaning the blinds can be a difficult task, if you don't have the proper tools. There are special cleaner devices for small slats, and special detergents as well. Of course, you can always take the blinds down and wash them with the shower, if they are not made of wood. It is your choice, but take care not to ruin them.

For people who like to be perceived as serious, vertical blinds can be the perfect solution, not only for their office, but also for their home. It is strange, but there are a lot of persons who choose this kind of window treatment for a living room, a dining or even a bedroom.

Review: "It's How Much You Keep That Counts" by Ronald R. Mueller

By Karin Russell

Nobody likes filing taxes but that's the reality of life. It's such a stressful time for many and just the word IRS is feared by many.

I'm a home business tax professional and I was so happy to find this book! I have never found a book so all-inclusive yet written in lay person language. It is on the "must have" list for all my tax clients.

If you are a home business owner you need to know what deductions you are allowed. You need to know just what kind of breaks the US government is giving to small businesses to encourage their growth. 'It's How Much You Keep That Counts not How Much You Make' goes into detail on how to maximize your business deductions.

'It's How Much You Keep That Counts not How Much You Make' is written in plain English and is the best home based business tax deduction guide I have found on the market. It translates complicated tax-law jargon into words you can understand and apply to your home-based business without hiring a CPA.... Whether you're going to start or have already started your business, you need this book.

The most valuable resource in 'It's How Much You Keep That Counts not How Much You Make' are the precise Article in the U.S. Tax Code, or the specific Congressional Tax Law, or the exact Federal Tax Court Ruling that authorized it. That means when your tax preparer says you can't take a deduction you can give him the code to look up.

'It's How Much You Keep That Counts not How Much You Make' also has suggestions about how to keep track of your expenses in just a few minutes a day. Mr. Mueller tells you exactly what you need to back up your deductions so that even if the government should chose to examine your tax return you'll be able to pass with flying colors.

No tax loopholes, gray-areas or tax dodger strategies are discussed in 'It's How Much You Keep That Counts not How Much You Make'. All the deductions presented are legal deductions sanctioned by the US government to help small businesses grow. The book only explains how to maximize the deductions the government allows.

Even the IRS has reviewed 'It's How Much You Keep That Counts not How Much You Make' and they did not request or even recommend a single change. To me that proves its accuracy and makes it THE official guide to home-based business tax law.

Here's a brief look at what you will discover inside this tremendous book.

Chapter 1 Explanation of the two tax systems in the USA

Chapter 2 How to legally qualify for tax breaks

Chapter 3 Day to Day expenses that could become business deductions

Chapter 4 How to determine your business deductions within your home

Chapter 5 How to write off equipment purchased for your business

Chapter 6 How to get your family involved

Chapter 7 Car deductions

Chapter 8 What qualifies as a business trip

Chapter 9 Entertainment expenses that can be deducted

Chapter 10 Documentation and simple record keeping

Chapter 11 Audit proof your tax returns

Chapter 12 How to get more take home pay

Chapter 13 How to put it all together

Chapter 14 How to get more from your past tax returns

If keeping more of your hard earned income appeals to you, then 'It's How Much You Keep That Counts not How Much You Make' is for you.

I believe it to be the best book for home business owners on the market! The references to the exact Congressional Law; the specific Article in the US Tax Code or Federal Tax Court Ruling which specifically authorizes the deductions makes it worth every penny of its tax deductible price!

Reduce Costs through Modifying Water Heater Temperature

By Ann Triune

Modifying the water heater temperature can actually be used in order to save energy. Water heaters are known to be the most energy-consuming appliances in your home, and you can be spending up to $400 in electric fees annually just through the use of water heaters alone!

Nowadays, there are many products available that will help you save up on energy, and as a result, minimize your electricity expenses. You can opt for purchasing a water heater timer or insulating materials. However, if you do not want to shell out some cash as an investment, you can always cut back on energy by applying simple changes to your water heater temperature setting.

How does this work?

If you set your water heater thermostat at a low setting, you can actually be saving significant amounts of energy. As a matter of fact, you could be saving up to 5% of energy just by reducing 10 degrees Fahrenheit from your current water heater temperature.

Did you know?

Some manufacturers calibrate water heater thermostats at 140 degrees Fahrenheit even when the average household only requires a water heater temperature setting of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. If you lower your temperature setting by 20 degrees Fahrenheit, you can be saving up to 10% of energy. Using 140 degrees Fahrenheit as your temperature setting can also pose some serious risks and hazards, such as scalding.

Also, you can prevent the process of mineral buildup and corrosion in your water heater and pipes by lowering your temperature setting to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This helps extend the life of your water heater and promotes maximum efficiency.

How do I maneuver the thermostat?

Water heater manuals contain instructions that will guide you in maneuvering the thermostat. For a gas storage water heater, the thermostat dial is located near the bottom of the tank of the gas valve. For electric water heaters, the thermostat dial is usually behind screw-on plates or panels. As a precaution, always shut off electricity to your water heater before attempting to remove the plates, to prevent you from getting electrocuted. Also remember that an electric water heater may have two thermostats - one for each upper and lower heating elements.

Once you have located the thermostat and adjusted it to a lower water heater temperature setting, take note of the adjustments you have made and keep it for future reference. Make sure to note the original temperature as well. After you have done so, check the water temperature from the tap farthest from your water heater. Do this to verify if the water temperature has indeed dropped. Most thermostat dials are imprecise, so you have to make several necessary adjustments before finally getting the desired water temperature.

Miscellaneous Tips on Using your Water Heater

If you plan to be away from home for a number of days, turn down your water heater temperature to the lowest setting. Or you can just shut off your water heater completely. Switching off the circuit breaker to your water heater can turn it off.

If you are using a dishwasher without a booster heater, a temperature within the range of 130-140 degrees Fahrenheit is recommended for effective cleaning.

As a whole, if you want to cut back on electricity costs, but you're not ready to invest in water heater timers and insulating materials, you can do so by simply lowering down the water heater temperature setting.

Bathroom vanity measurements are crucial

By Sebastian Giovanni

A renovation of your lavatory comes with several important decisions. But the most important decision of all is which bathroom vanity mirror you're going to install above the lavatory sink. This is something that will be seen by all your guests when they head into and leave the lavatory. Your lavatory theme or design is the guiding light into your personality as far as your guests are concerned.

No matter how much heart you put into making the decision of the perfect bathroom vanity, it is always going to be the centerpiece of your bathroom. There is a good chance that most people will use your vanity mirror in order to check their appearance when leaving the room. This is the reason why most public bathrooms and residential bathrooms have mirrors.

You certainly do not want people to equate your decorating style as run of the mill and plain, so you have to place a certain degree of importance on your Bathroom Vanity cabinet so that when they walk out their overall experience is positive. Remember also, that the mirror is one of the only things that people will actually first| notice that is eye level while they are in the bathroom. With this in mind you will certainly want to make a positive splash.

You need to make sure the style and size of your mirror coordinate with your bathroom vanity. If you buy a small mirror and hung it over an oversized vanity, it will cause a huge unbalance. It works also the opposite, if the sink is smaller and the mirror is twice the sink's size it is impractical for the design of the bathroom.

A general rule of thumb is to aim for the same size, with only an inch or two up either way in proportion to how many feet long your countertop is. For instance, a little larger Bath will help fill up empty space in the bathroom without over powering the small sink. The trim should also be kept conditionally smaller so that the trim does not overstate the white empty wall as well.

When you choose a larger type of bathroom vanity be sure you place it close to the middle of the room leaving a couple of inches for proper accents. Always make sure that the trim molding of the vanity matches as closely as possible to the framing of the mirror. A towel bar or some other accent piece can be placed on opposite sides of the vanity mirror. These should also match the trim on the vanity.

Ultimately, you want to choose a look that suits your bathroom and personal style well. There are many diverse options you can choose from when deciding which Bathroom Vanity will hang the best in your room. Your task is to choose the one that will best compliment the space you have to work with that your guests will admire.
