So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Buying A Car In Utah, The Decision To Buy Used Or New

By Mike Ansel

People who buy Utah cars often feel unsure as to whether to buy new or used. Not everyone has this problem, of course-those who can't afford to buy new, or those who don't have high-enough credit ratings to get larger, new-car loans don't have such difficulties. If you suffer from this new-versus-used dilemma, and you have the ability to buy new if you want to, perhaps you should ask the following car-buying questions of yourself. The answers you generate might help you decide.

The primary question to ask yourself is how seriously you perceive buying a car as making an investment. If your answer is, "None at all," you could very well be a used-car sort of person. On the other hand, if you think the other way around-that buying a car is mostly about making an investment-you should probably buy new from Utah car dealers.

If you fit neither of these opposites, but you're somewhere in the middle, you should then consider asking other questions. Ask yourself how much it would bother you to lose value to depreciation the first and second year of ownership; do you truly want the higher monthly payments of a new vehicle; how important is driving a new car to you; how patient and experienced are you with vehicle repairs; how important is having your choice of options on a car, including color; how important are the most up-to-date safety and other features to you; how important is a mechanical warrantee; how many miles do you typically drive in a year; and how long do you want to keep this same car? As you answer these questions, notice which way each one makes you lean (new or used), and how much. When you assess all the leanings together, you hopefully can see which direction they point you towards.

If financial considerations are of concern to you, but you aren't clear about how they all would affect you, one way or the other, there are real-live bankers and online resources, to say nothing of Utah car dealership financial managers to help you sort through it all. Let me give you a few more points: interest rates for new-car loans are typically one to three percent less than for used-car loans; short loans usually have lower interest rates than do longer loans; and people with excellent credit ratings can sometimes get zero-percent loans from Utah car dealers.

Also, consider these points: lower-priced, Utah used cars have lower insurance costs than do higher-priced, new cars; the more aged the car, the bigger chance of having a very big, possibly unaffordable repair cost; many reasonably new Utah used cars are covered by comprehensive warrantee programs, and somewhat older ones often qualify for extended-warrantee purchase; and buying a one-year-old vehicle could get you a better-quality one for the same amount as a brand-new vehicle.

If you're still undecided after this, you can get all the help you need from Utah car dealerships in choosing between Utah used cars or Utah new cars.

How to Avoid the Risks a Driver Can Encounter On Summer Roads

By Ethan Melandri

When summer is approaching, the longer days and warmer weather offer an excellent opportunity to enjoy your car on the open road. However even though the threat of extreme bad weather has passed, there are still potential hazards on the roads that can easily catch out an unprepared driver.

Temperatures during the summer months will rise, yielding in some places a lack of rain. Debris that is not taken away by rainfall can increase on the surface of the roads. Other surface issues such as oil, dust, and rubber can also be plentiful in areas where rain has not occurred often. A lack of rain can make the road more slippery.

Slicker conditions appear after a short amount of rain. The debris is still on the road, but now it is mixed with the water which is not running off in the drains. This condition can surprise the unwary motorist more than you might consider.

If you are driving after rainfall and the weather has increased in heat you should be cautioned that braking needs to change. You will need more distance to stop. You also need to consider reducing your speed when you go around curves since the grip of the wheels will be less.

Asphalt, after a very hot dry period is worse than just after a short rain. A polished sheen can be seen on the ground as the heat mixes with the tar. The more cars that travel over an area the hotter the road can become.

Warmer weather presents a number of adventures for the driver and it also brings out other potential fun seekers. Families on holiday with their caravans will become more noticeable and they can be a slight disruption in your speed. However, you dont want to irritate them. They belong on the road like you do, thus keeping your cool is appropriate when driving among others trying to have a great holiday like you.

Be aware that many of these drivers will have been travelling for long distances, on roads they are unfamiliar with, possibly distracted by their children or satellite navigation. Be prepared for them to make unexpected manoeuvres without signalling, and factor this into your decision when deciding whether it is appropriate to overtake them, and remember you easily come across a slow moving vehicle mid way through a blind bend.

It is also important to consider leaving your sidelights or headlight bulbs on during the day when driving in the summer. Daytime running lights have been shown to reduce the risk of collisions by up to 12 percent, and with the large contrast between light and shade that the high summer sun brings, and the fact that most drivers will be wearing sun glasses, leaving your car lights on is a good way to ensure your vehicle is still noticed.

Sometimes the additional training may be less or more and is determined by the needs of the particular auditor. A Guide to Plasma TV Technology

By Ari Guyer

Plasma tv technology consists of hundreds of thousands of tiny pixel cells which are held between two panels of glass. Those cells hold a mixture of gasses. Electrical pulses excite the gas causing them to glow and produce light. Each pixel is made of three florescent lights. Those lights are coloured red, blue, and green. The colours blend together to create the overall colour of the pixel. The overall colour is used to produce what you see on your television.

Plasmas have a glass screen which allows for a lot of light to be reflected. This can be problematic in rooms that are brightly lit due to lighting or windows. Plasmas are ideal in rooms with low to moderate light sources. Many manufacturers are now producing plasma tvs with glare reducing features. Superior deep black colours and high contrast levels create a satisfying viewing experience especially when viewing movies with darks scenes. Vivid and impressive sharp images are achieved due to the brightness and strong contrast of the plasma technology.

Plasmas are a perfect choice for movies watchers, video gamers, and sports fanatics due to the plasma tvs quick response time. Fast images are displayed accurately and motion blur is negligible.

Each plasma pixel produces its own light which allows plasma tv's to have a wide viewing angle. Onscreen images look the same when viewed from the front or the side. Seating arrangement and tv placement is not a concern with plasma televisions.

Plasma televisions used to have a problem with burn-in. Burn in is caused when static images are etched into the plasma screen. Plasma tv makers have now increased the time before burn in occurs which has corrected the etching problem.

People looking for large tv screen will find plasma tvs to be an excellent choice. Until recently plasma tvs were the only affordable upgraded technology with screens larger than 40 inches. A plasma television may be mounted on a wall or placed on a tv stand. If a plasma tv is mounted it must be anchored properly due to the excessive weight. Professional installation is often recommended because a 60 inch plasma tv can weigh over 100 pounds.

The lifespan of a plasma television is approximately 60,000 hours. One could expect a tv to last about 20 years if watched 8 hours a day. When purchasing a plasma television it is important to consider energy usage. Many manufacturers now produce brands that are more energy efficient and emit less heat.

Research is important when it comes time to purchase a plasma tv. Knowledgeable sales people at electronics stores can help you determine which plasma tv is right for you. Discount department stores and warehouse outlets often have a large selection of plasma tv's to choose from. If you prefer to shop without the pressure from a sales person, research can be done online. Websites can be used to compare brands and prices on specific models.

Coming Soon... Math Comic Strips Flagship Item: "The Innovative Dr. Knowledge"

By Matthew Smith

When we launched our web site featuring the best in math comic strips, one of our main goals was to offer a vehicle to teach math to children. In this world of heavy distractions, such as television and video games, we realized that we would be coming up against some heavy competition. Math is too many kids, well, boring, and too much like work. How could we possibly make learning math fun?

We decided upon the comic book format for a number of reasons. For starters, the humble comic book has stood the "test of time". Before the 24 hour cartoon network was even thought of, children would huddle, under their blankets, late at night, comic and flashlight in hand, and read about their favorite "hero". Comic books are an ideal visual learning tool, very portable, requiring no additional attachments or electricity, or even an internet connection.

We are happy to announce that our flagship item, an educational math comic featuring "The Innovative Dr. Knowledge", is almost complete. Now Dr. Knowledge is not a "Super Hero" in the sense that he is from another planet or has been bitten by an insect or something. He's a regular guy. His "superior abilities" (if we can call them that) comes from his hard work at studying math and other subjects over the years. With these "powers" he is able to solve some fantastic crimes and problems. We are hoping that as children read and follow his adventures, they will become enchanted by the world of math, and motivated to do their own math homework in the process.

Bobby lost his mother at a young age, and had a rather difficult childhood in many respects. To make a long story short, his father decided to take him on a trip to help encourage and motivate his son. As fate would have it, he ended up on an island, and it was here that he embraced his love of math. Math helped him to solve many problems that the island presented him with, and through these adventures he was able to see the practical applications of math.

When he eventually made his way back to civilization, he pursued his math education on a more formal level eventually earning a PhD in Mathematics at a prestigious university. Using his math abilities he was able to acquire great wealth, and answer a calling in his life...to use math to solve crimes and problems and make the world a better place.

Our sincere desire is that you will enjoy reading our comic, "The Innovative Dr. Knowledge". Please join us in helping to promote math education to our nation's children. They are going to need math skills in order to compete for the jobs of the future. Math comic strips may never be the same again...
