There are two types of movement for alarm clocks with face and hands. They are the mechanical and quartz battery operated alarm clocks. The old yet iconic mechanical alarm clocks have the traditional bell on top which produces that ringing sound. On the other hand, the simple quartz battery operated alarm clock makes a buzzing sound to wake you up.

In the bell-style alarm clock with mechanical movement, the main spring drives the gear propelling its clacker back and forth. This clacker is usually between the two bells or between the sides if the clacker is inside a single bell. Thus, it produces the common buzzing sound to wake us up.

The quartz battery alarm clock, on the other hand, is a type of clock that utilizes an electric oscillator. This oscillator is regulated by a quartz crystal to keep time with such a level of accuracy. The crystal oscillator produces a precise signal. This makes quartz alarm clocks more accurate than traditional mechanical clocks over a period of time.

Quartz crystals are very accurate, thus this have been its way of winning the competition over the mechanical types of movement. Cozumel Island - Mexico

One of Mexico's biggest islands, Cozumel, is located 20 km (12 miles) from the mainland, and 60 km (36 mi) south of Cancun. It is a flat, limestone island shaped like a holster, and punctured by tens of cenotes (water-filled sinkholes), many with their own marine forms, which are an extra attraction for tourists and snorkellers who come to explore the island's life-filled offshore reefs.

Jacques Cousteau first popularized Cozumel in 1960, when he identified Palancar at the island's southern tip as one of the world's best diving sites. He triggered a growth in tourist development, only reined in with the establishment of the National Marine Park in 1996: but the reefs were badly damaged by the deepwater piers built for cruise ships to bring new clientele.

Attitudes changed quickly. Cozumel's new islanders (the 40,000 Maya who welcomed Herman ('Stout') Cortes in 1519 were reduced to 30 by 1510, and Cozumel became uninhabited) realised the value, not just of their spectacular marine wealth, but also of the island's unspoilt centre.

You'll never get a better chance to appreciate Mayan culture so close to good beaches. The biggest Mayan site, San Gervasio (named much later), was for centuries sacred to lx Chel, the goddess of fertility, and one of the Yucatan's most important sanctuaries. There are several others, recovered from jungle and swampy mangrove lagoons now teeming with cormorants, pelicans, primary-coloured tree frogs, iguanas and crocodiles.

These days, the duty of collective care is replacing the ecological mistakes of the 1970s. You can see 250 species in its clear waters, including the bright blue-and-yellow queen angelfish, the toad fish (unique to Cozumel), and enormous sponges like the barrel and elephant ear, which grows to 3.6 m (12 ft) across. Cozumel is fabulously pretty and exotic, and you should go there with someone you love and watch the sunsets.

However, honestly, I really do wonder why so many people are compelled to buy the Cricut machine, knowing that the Pazzles Inspiration Cutter is cheaper in the long run? I admit, there is one tiny downside to owning a Pazzles Inspiration Electronic Cutter machine: as with the Wishblade die cutting machine, they both rely on being hooked up to a computer to function. Which of course makes it not as portable as the Cricut range of die cut machines. It would be a great new feature if you could record your favourite images and fonts to the Pazzles Machine, wouldnt it!?

But honestly, it is seriously worth a look at this wonder die cutting machine. Imagine the possibilities with your next scrapbooking project.
