So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Buying Online: Shopping for Kid's Clothing

By Katie Wilber

Shopping online for your children can be a little tricky. You cannot touch the items nor can you shake the hand of the manager or store owner and make a personal connection. Without this tangible buying experience, some shoppers are left with many questions.

On top of the questions about fit and quality, shipping, returns, and the security of our transactions top the list of concerns. Here are a few tips and strategies for making online shopping for children's clothing a stress free process.

Verify The Reputation Of The Store First!

Quick, before you being shopping on a site, check the URL - that's the website address. Does it say HTTP or HTTPS? If there is no S, then the site isn't secure. Find another store.

Also look for feedback about the store online. There are many review sites and if the site youre shopping at has received many complaints, chances are youll find them online. You can do a quick search by typing in the name of the store and the word reviews, Store Name + Reviews into your search engine of choice.

Online resources like The Better Business Bureau, are good references to make sure a business is well established and takes care of their customers.

What brands does the store carry? Are they brands with a reputation for quality? Are they brands or designers you're familiar with? If not, do a quick bit of research to find out the reliability of the designers and brands the store carried.

Look For Product Descriptions

An accurate product description will include what the item is made of, washing instructions and sometimes even the sizing.

A picture, or pictures, of the clothing item is imperative. Children can be finicky and the wrong shade of green can mean the difference between a favorite sweater and one that gets stuffed under the bed.

Read Store Policies

When will you receive the items? Some stores have very structured shipping policies which are apparent and stated quite clearly on their site. This is ideal and a good sign that you're dealing with a reputable business.

What happens if the item doesn't fit? Like shipping policies, return policies are also important. Read the policy before you make a purchase to make sure you're satisfied with your commitment and the store's return policy.

What Are Your Child's Measurements?

Finally, its important to know your childs size and measurements. We all know that you can fit into a size 8 in one brand and in another brand youre a size 10 " its enough to drive a person crazy. However if you know your childs measurements then you can determine what size is appropriate for them for any brand " no more guessing games. Clothing websites should provide you with a sizing chart, so you can get the right size for your child.

Share the wealth. Tell others about your online shopping experiences. If you have a bad experience by all means post a review however don't forget to post a good review when you have a good experience. Good reviews help as much as the bad ones and they ensure the stores you love stay in business.
