So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

A Short History Of The 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Lt

By Gabriel

The 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Lt was introduced alongside the Impala sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2005. It is a coupe with a V8 powerplant and front-drive. The V8 engine was introduced for the first time since the rear-drive version that was manufactured earlier.

The 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo models went through a major change from the earlier models. Designers made significant changes for the 2006 model year with the vehicles getting a sportier chassis tuning and improved driving dynamics.

However, they retained the two-door coupe style with three trim levels. Further, the vehicles were given a more sculpted appearance with slight changes to the interiors.

All models of the 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Lt have sport a sleeker exterior with 1.2 inches reduced from the overall length of the 2005 models. This has made the exterior design look more aggressive. Further, they are described as a spacious coupe providing comfort/performance with a lower price.

The base version of the 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a 3.5 liter V6 engine with 211 horsepower. The upper level models come with a 3.9 liter V6 engine resulting in a quicker horsepower of 242 with the help of a variable-length intake manifold.

The Super Sport (SS) model comes with a generation IV small-block 5.3 liter V8 engine that can produce 303 horsepower. This was the first V8 engine to be used since Chevrolet's 1988 model and instigated doubts among many as the vehicle was a front-wheel-drive. An important feature to be noted in this model is that it saves fuel by using the 'displacement on demand' function wherein select cylinders are shut down when they are not needed. However, those who prefer quick reflexes may want to look at other options that are more nimble compared to the SS model.

The suspension system for the SS model is revised to provide better control and comfort while driving. It has been made with a very stiff suspension array for the best cornering abilities. All 2006 models sport front-side air bags with traction control and also have four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. They have 17- to 18-inch tires supported by a tire pressure monitoring system. There were various models introduced during 2006-2007 including the Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS, Chevrolet Monte Carlo LT and Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. Designers came up with another model, Chevrolet Monte Carlo LTZ, which was however manufacture only in 2006. This model had a 3.9 liter V6 engine with 240 horsepower.
