So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Why You Should Install Granite Counter Tops in Your Kitchen

By Hubert Hymdrikl

Many things should be taken into consideration when you decide to remodel your kitchen. One of the first steps is choose the appliances for your kitchen. Are you purchasing new appliances or keeping the ones you have? Your decision will be influenced by the age of your current appliances. You must also take into account the overall decorating of the room. What color will the kitchen be?

It is important to think about the kitchen counter tops as you remodel your kitchen. There are many choices available to the consumer from marble and granite to Formica. Formica has some surface problems. It has a tendency to scratch easily, and once scratched, it is difficult, if not impossible, to remove the scratches. Counter tops made of Formica can be scorched if you put a hot pan directly on its surface. Once Formica is damaged about the only thing you can do to fix the problems is replace the entire Formica counter top. This is not only expensive, but a nuisance. You would be smarter to choose a kitchen counter top that will last through the years.

Granite counter tops are preferable to Formica counter tops. Granite does not succumb to the same problems as Formica. You do not have to worry about scratches or scorching from hot spots. Granite is an extremely hard stone. Believe it or not, granite is harder than steel so a hot pot will not leave marks on the surface of a granite kitchen counter top.

No matter how attractive a Formica counter top is, granite far surpasses it in beauty. Because it is natural, every piece of granite is unique. Formica cannot possibly achieve the luster and texture of granite. In addition to all of these wonderful characteristics, granite is a breeze to maintain. You can wash it with soapy water and then simply dry it with a soft towel. It could not be easier or more convenient. You do not need to buy any special cleaning supplies.
