So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Colorful Decor, Happy Homeowner

By Jerry Carter

Yes what colors you have on your walls or in your rooms will directly affect how you feel. It's been proven in many studies that have been completed. So if you want to change the feeling of a room, change the color and the dcor. But don't overdo the choices that you make, sometimes too much will hurt instead of help.

Putting colors in a room that are lighter will have a room where you can relax better. Some good colors you might want to think about are moss green or a nice baby blue. A great example is the bedroom, one of these colors will help you relax at night and get better sleep. If you don't like the two color suggestions stick with a light colored pastel choice for a room.

As a color, red is very distinct because it has a lot of visual energy; anything that has even a hint of red will immediately command your attention. On top of that, researches have found that seeing too much red literally will elevate your heart rate and magnify emotions like anger and aggression. A few touches of red here and there are good for evoking romance and passion. Just make sure to grab your color wheel and decorate the rest of the room in a complementary color or with neutral tones.

Another color to use in an area where you will have guests is a lighter color yellow. This is a nice light color that will create a warm atmosphere for get together. Don't use a yellow that is too bright though, it will make the room too overwhelming instead.

If you have neutral colors in rooms already, you can mix and match other colors that may not always seem like they would go together. It's a great way to create your own look, just make sure that it looks ok, and doesn't make a person feel off when they look at the room. Remember you should stick to two colors in the room besides your neutral color.

If you haven't added too much color to the walls, or you feel that is too big of a jump. You can add in some different colors with a nice area rug. They come in many colors, and in a bland room can add in just enough color to make the room go from boring to better than boring. Make sure the rug works to tie the overall look of the room together.

Of course some people are worried about changing their rooms too much. In that case, use a white on the walls, this will work with any theme that you may want to use in the room. Just don't forget to add in a bit of color with other items in the room. You can make a room that has all white walls still exciting if you use other colors around the room.
