So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Things To Remind You In Quilting

By Ayeth Boots

The art of quilting had been existent to almost every part of the universe. And in fact, its advancement also coincides with today's modern world. If the yesterday's quilting styles are the Amish bars or the classic kaleidoscope quilts, nowadays, newer designs had been also incorporated into the quilt world, such as the Disney characters, Garfield, and other designs to run in your mind, it may definitely be quilted.

Quilting overall is a simple activity that will bring you joy and even can uplift your spirit, especially if you can relate to what you are doing. Here are some ideas which you may consider while doing your quilting project.

Think of a theme before deciding which quilting kit to buy. It is indeed very rewarding if you see that you are creating your quilts and you actually like it and can't wait for it be finished. It is important that you really like what you are doing. You do not make a quilt having the design of cars, trucks, or whatever, if you are a girly type who is into Barbie's, Disney Princesses, or flowers; unless you are going to give it to your brother. I hope you get the point.

Be sure to have the complete material before you start. It will not cause you much if you will have extra fabrics, threads, and needles on hand. You can never know that at the top of your adrenaline, you will notice that you already run out of materials, which can frustrate you really badly.

Invest for the right materials. Buying for cheaper products is not the issue here, just as long as you are assured that they are of high quality, since it may affect your quilts in the long run. For example, does your fabric shrinks after being washed? Or is the thread you used colorfast and will not stain your whole quilt? These are just a few of the things you have to note before deciding to buy your quilting material.

Do your quilt the right way. If it asks for a backstitch, then do so. If it requires a specific size for length and width, then so be it. It will not cost you to follow simple instructions and know the basics. Anyway, those are provided to help you with your quilting, and to make sure that you are doing it the right way.

Finish your quilts and be proud of it. May it be your first quilt project or not, or how long or brief it took you to finish it, you should be proud of what you have done. Especially if you gave all you've got to create your quilts, it is really something that you must treasure and love.

Certainly, there are many other ways to do and to keep in mind so that quilting will be a lot more enjoyable and interesting activity. Just think twice or trice before deciding for your first or next quilting project, so you wouldn't regret it later on.
