So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Pick Quality Teak Wood Furniture

By Jack Oakley

Teak wood is very popular and sometimes very hard to find. Because of this there any many imitation pieces of teak furniture on the market. How do you know you are getting a quality and real piece of teak wood?

There are a few simple ways to know if the wood is indeed teak wood. Ask your retail establishment where the actual wood came from. Quality teak wood comes from only two places, South East Asia and India. If the wood has come from any other place it is definitely cheap imitation wood.

The moisture contained in the wood is also very important. Teak wood has a moisture rating of 8-12% whereas other woods have a much higher rating. Ask your salesman what the moisture rating is and make sure it fits the ratio.

Sap Wood is the main and biggest imitator of teak wood on the market. Sap Wood contains a fraction of the rubber and oils of real quality teak wood. Without the rubber and oils the sap wood does not last as long and ages very quickly.

The other tool you can use to find quality teak wood is your own eyes. Look at the wood and make sure it looks natural. Natural teak wood should not be stained or oiled up and it should naturally have a graceful silver Grey color.

You can eyeball a few things on a claimed piece of teak wood to make sure it's authentic. Teak wood naturally has a very silver Grey color to it. If the furniture you are looking at is any different color than be wary.

By using these tips you can rest assured that you will be buying quality teak wood furniture pieces.
