So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Wind turbines and the effects on your home

By John Ashbury

If you wish to install a wind turbine in your home there are some things that you should consider. People tend to have quite a few questions about the different types of systems that are available these days. However the system is not complicated and just about anyone is able to install them, although there are those points that should be considered beforehand.

Anyone can install a wind turbine system in their home. There are federal regulations set forth that require electricity companies to connect to wind turbine systems. If you want to install a wind turbine system in your home then talk to your electricity company. They are required to work with you and connect the turbine system. The best thing that you can do is contact the manufacturer of the wind turbine system . They should be able to work with the utility company to get the proper approvals and be sure the system you install is up to code.

Many people ask if they are going to have to change the wiring in their home when they install a wind turbine system. The good news is that wind turbine systems do not require wiring in the home to be changed. This type of system is very easily to retrofit to most homes.

Not only is the wiring unaffected but your appliances are also unaffected and do not need to be changed in any way. The electricity company that you use will install and additional meter beside the one you already have and this will measure the total amount of energy that the company will then be purchasing from you wind turbine.

In order for you to install a wind turbine for your home you will require a tower. It will need to be between eighty and one-hundred-and-twenty feet tall and is usually supplied along with the wind turbine when you purchase it. The reason that you need a tower in the first place is because wind does not tend to blow very strongly close to the ground. By installing the system on the tower it is able to store more energy from the stronger wind that blows higher up.

You will be able to choose between many different types of towers when you decide to have a wind turbine installed for the purpose of supplementing your energy needs in your home. Some are made from guyed lattice and other are hinged towers. All the different types have their own advantages. The lattice one is popular because it is highly economical and good value for money. The hinged is popular because it is easy to install and also is easily accessed for maintenance purposes.

To recap, wind powered systems will not require you to alter the wiring in your home at all. They are simply fitted to your house without affecting any of the wiring whatsoever.

Remember that the taller the tower for your system the better. Do not fear that your electricity company will refuse to let you install a turbine system because they cannot. Work with your utility company to ensure that the installation is done properly and you will pleased that you made the decision to purchase a wind turbine for your home.
