So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Color Schemes And Decor To Make Your Home Warm And Inviting

By Paul Baker

Colors are essential factors for home decorating. Do without them and your home design will never look complete and polished. A certain color scheme can make a space look exactly whatever ambiance or mood you wish to have.

Color selection

The most important thing to remember when choosing your color scheme is that your personal preferences are going to be far more important than what anyone else has to say. If you prefer red and orange tones, then that should be a focal point for your colors. Remember to balance your color choices with either neutral or contrasting colors for a unique look that brings more into the home than one or two colors will.

You don't have to repaint the walls if you don't dig such a drastic renovating step. You can however, incorporate colors in other ways, such as through the decors, fabrics, artworks and furniture. A safer choice is to match the color scheme, such that if you have a light paint for the walls, then the furnishings will follow suit. For a bolder look, you can use contrasting shades but those that still look good together. Black and white is a classic, and mixing other colors with white is a safe option as well. But to match a yellow with a green, a red with a black or a lavender with a light blue, that is a risky color scheme but one that will surely pay off, especially if the rest of the room complements these colors.

Area Rugs

With attention to detail, you will notice that one frequently overlooked aspect of creating a color scheme is flooring. With area rugs available, you won't even have to re-carpet or install permanent flooring options to have the look that you want. There are even options in bamboo that can allow you to have the look of a hardwood floor without the mess and expense of installing hardwood in your home. Plus, these options can easily be changed anytime that you are ready for a new look.

Area rugs are the ultimate floor decors for an instant transformation. Any motif, design or style can be complemented with an area rug. A room can be contemporary or classic and sure enough, an area rug makes the whole design complete.

Home interiors

To tie two different colors together, area rugs and wall hangings are both excellent options. For example, if you are bringing a black and white color scheme together, then an area rug with white, black and gray can make the room look as if it were carefully planned. Other color schemes can be accentuated by grouping of objects in the same color. For example, white and apple green color schemes work best with ample amounts of white and touches of the bright green scattered throughout the room.

Have fun in your color selection. Tap into your inner self and figure out what hues appeal to you. Even without a major redecorating work, your home will look like a home design magazine's cover page.
