So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Brown Bag For Saving, Cost-Cutting, and Making Ends Meet In An Economy Crisis

By Alexandra Vrugt

This economy crisis is putting a financial strain on just about everything in our lives, and that includes on our basic daily needs. One of those basics is the quintessential LUNCH. But that daily meal break has, over time, become an extremely expensive part of working outside of the home.

A typical lunch at a restaurant can cost upwards of $10. If you spend that everyday, then you're looking at $50 per week, just for...lunch! The reality is that you can have great lunches on a daily basis for so much less. Here's what you need to do to save on lunch in this economy crisis:

Make lunchmeat sandwiches a daily lunch treat. Select meats that you can buy for cheap or with coupons from the supermarket. Grab a bag salad that you can also buy for cheap with coupons. This could last you for up to 3 days worth of lunches. If you don't want meat, go for something fun like a peanut butter and jam or banana sandwich. These taste cheap to make and just as delicious!

Always check your grocery store's bakery section for discounted specialty breads. When they are not on sale, these breads can cost upwards of $5 per loaf, but when you catch them at the end of the day, you can sometimes buy for cheap each loaf for about 50-cents! It's a win-win for you and the store. The definitely prefer selling these breads to make a little money, and for you, it's a wonderful way to get high quality breads for pennies on the dollar.

Invest in plastic containers that you can buy for cheap from your local discount store. These are great for freezing part of your dinner for lunchtime leftovers. They are usually microwavable also, which makes lunch even easier! Freeze small portions and pull them out as you need them.

One of the cheapest and most filling lunch options around is pasta. Not only can you buy for cheap the pasta and sauce, you can get even great savings by buying them on sale and with coupons! Plus, pasta is very healthy for you as long as you don't overeat or put too much fattening stuff in it. For roughly 70-centers per pound or just about free when you catch a deal and use coupons, you could have a wonderful lunch meal.

Plan your lunch over a period of time for saving, cost-cutting, and stretching your money. This is a strategy that you can't afford not to use. This is how you will save...not only will you be able to incorporate home cooked meals into your lunch plans, but if you plan to have dinner with a business associate or for an upcoming event, you can plan to save a portion of your meal. Just ask for a carry-out container and there you have it...another day's meal!

Lunch can be a great meal everyday. By planning, taking advantage of saving opportunities, and catching deals, your brown bag lunch could result in major financial benefits for your family over time. This economy crisis can be stressful for families, but your lunch break should be just that... a break that you can enjoy knowing that it won't break your budget!
