So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Make Pizza Crust At Home

By Art Damico

Want to know how to make pizza crust at home? It's really easy. Follow me.

The first thing you'll need is a recipe. They are very easy to find on the Internet. Look for a simple one with the most often used ingredients: flour, water, salt, oil and yeast. That's all you really need to make a great pizza crust.

Measure out all your ingredients beforehand and set them aside. This makes the process so much smoother than having to stop and start during the mixing procedure.

Add all the dry ingredients to a medium size bowl and mix them together really well. Next add the water which should be at or near a temperature of 105 degrees, the optimum for the yeast to do its thing.

Using a heavy spoon or other kitchen utensil, begin to stir the ingredients together. It will get stiff rather fast, but just keep turning the mixture until a ragged ball of dough forms. Add the oil and continue until all ingredients have been incorporated.

Now you have to knead the dough. Put a little flour in a shallow dish next to your work area. You'll need it soon to keep the dough from sticking to you as you work. Put the dough on a flour-dusted surface and begin kneading.

Kneading is very simple. Just push down and away, flattening the dough as you work. Next fold the dough over itself and rotate 90 degrees. Push down and away again, fold and turn. Repeat this process for about 5 minutes or until the ball of dough takes on a smooth shine and is very elastic when you pull it apart.

Now comes the hardest part of how to make pizza crust, waiting. Put the kneaded dough ball into an oiled bowl, move it around to coat the surface and cover with plastic wrap. Set it in a warm (not hot) place for about two hours or until it doubles in size.

Take the dough out of the bowl and put it on a floured work surface. Work it down into a rough equivalent of the shape you'll be wanting, then begin rolling it out with a rolling pin. Work it down evenly until you get your desired thickness.

When it's evenly rolled out, carefully transfer to your baking pan. Trim, cut and pull the dough as necessary to fit the pan. Make a crust of dough around the edge if you like. It's a matter of taste.

Wasn't that you who asked how to make a pizza crust? We got that answered didn't we?
