So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Sexy Rockabilly Hairstlyes - Style A Reto Hairstyle

By Toni Moretti

The cool and sexy look of rockabilly hairstyles started way back in the 1930?s, 40?s and 50?s from among the working classes. It was a way of expressing their desire to stand out and be noticed, a desire to reflect their personality and the love of things like music and cars of the era (now vintage cars) as well as a particularly bold way of dressing. The overall look was certainly sexy, though there was more elegance and class that was associated with the rock and roll movement of that time.

Out of the many celebrities that made rockabilly hairstyles popular, Elvis Presley and Bettie Paige stand out. The tough guy and sexy kitten look was here to stay and to this day you find many followers stylishly carrying it off. The rockabilly sub-culture has its roots in the times when men and women became a little restless with the often stifling influence of the prim and proper image that they were expected to present in society. The outrageous looks of the rockabilly hairstyles and clothing and general tastes said it all.

For men the style had two main designs. One was where the sides were cut short and the front, top and the back were kept long. The hair at the front and at the top was swept upwards with the help of pomade or wax. The second design was called the flattop. Here, the hair is cut short and given the look of an even plane and styled with pomade r wax to give spiking ends.

Rockabilly hairstyles for women came in many shapes and sizes. But once again we see two definite styles. The first is a layered style with a moderate length. Longer and curly hair is found on the top and at the nape of the neck while the sides are kept short. The other rockabilly hairstyle is the one which became the trademark of the Bettie Paige look. It had a blunt cut fringe in front and could be layered or styled in soft waves cascading at the back.

Creating a rockabilly hairstyle can be done easily with a little imagination. Although layering was mandatory in the past, it can be avoided altogether with modern styling methods. The shape of the face, bone structure and the build has to be taken into account in creating the style. Apart from these considerations its rock and roll all the way and you can enjoy the most distinct and unique hairstyle that is possible to have. This classic look can be made into a personal trademark with a little retro chic and you will definitely be the life of the party or the belle of the ball. So, you guys and dolls out there who want to look cool and sexy with a rockabilly hairstyle, it is time to curl, twirl and step out in style. The whole idea of the rockabilly style is to have loads of fun and love having it.
