So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Things To Do And See In New York

By Clive Adams

For first time visitors as well as for frequent and seasoned travelers, the city is dazzling. You have seen its many attractions in countless Hollywood movies and yet the reality is both more astounding and more chaotic.

It is a city in motion, whether it's day or night. No other city in the world exudes such energy and vibe. Just like the bright lights of Times Square, New York's incredible spirit remains undiminished by the attacks on the twin towers.

There's always plenty to see and do in New York. Whether it's going to museums or nightclubs, watching a play or dining at a swanky restaurant, strolling through its parks or gazing at its towering skyscrapers, the sheer choice and quality it offers is truly impressive.

A must-see attraction on your holiday is the iconic statue of Liberty on Ellis Island. The Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park and Rockefeller Center are just few of the many attractions the city has to offer. You can spend hours or months in its vast museums and still not manage to see it all.

If you have a limited time to spend in New York, focus on Manhattan. Many wonderful retail stores, theatres, restaurants, pubs, bars plus most of New York's main attractions are centered here.

One of the best ways to explore New York, especially Manhattan, is on foot. You can feel the city's vibe as you eat a hot dog from a street vendor, watch New Yorkers on their way to work and have a pint at a charming Irish pub. You can also choose to live it up by dining at posh restaurants and attending gallery openings. You will discover that it is possible to survive on a few dollars and also that in some places even a few thousand won't go too far. What you do will colour and shape your experience of this multi-faceted city.

The city can be visited any time of the year and people from all over the world flock here even during its hot summers and chilly winters. The reason is that with so many different events taking place in one part of the city or another, there's never a dull moment. Boredom is never a problem but the sheer amount of activities, including shopping, you indulge in, may leave you feeling a bit tired and, happily, eager for more.

After you visit New York once, you will be back again and again...
