So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Toll Free Numbers and Crimes

By Anne Torres

Toll free numbers have been very useful to businesses and ordinary individuals. These numbers can also be used to prevent crimes and to help the victims of such crimes by letting these victims call a specific number with no cost at all.

A lot of governments have given a toll free number for a particular department to be able to have a smooth flow of operations and to stay organized at all times. Say for example the justice department; they have their own clear numbers for people to remember them by. Another example is the police station or the other crime fighting departments, the government has assigned them a numbers for distress individuals to call when they are in danger.

If people need assistance from a specific department of the government, all they have to do is to call the number. Or, one option could be that a specific government can employ one toll free number for the entire thing and just assign a look-up directory for each department.

Say for instance I'm in need of assistance from the Internal Revenue System department, all I have to do is call the toll free number given and just listen to a voice prompt for me to know which number to press to connect to the IRS department.

Toll free numbers have been very handy in the criminal justice area. Remember the missing girl a decade ago named Amber? Because of that, concerned citizens have developed a specific toll free number and they named it after the little girl who became a victim of a heinous crime. Amber alert is a special hotline anticipated for a particular criminal act.

Parents can call the hotline if they believe that their child has been kidnapped or if they suspect that their child is in grave danger. Operators are just on the other end of the line ready to help them.
