So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Airsoft Guns As An Enthusiast Activity

By Anthony Carter

Airsoft guns as an enthusiast activity can bring many hours of enjoyment, especially when one takes some time to learn a little bit about what these toy replica guns can do for most hobbyists. It's a fact that these sorts of replica weapons fire rubber BBs or BBs that are composed of soft plastic at velocities such that a lot of fun can be created without a lot of potential harm.

Usually, airsoft guns are available as extremely detailed replicas of some of the most popular handgun, shotgun or military rifles in the world. Coming in all shapes and sizes, most folks who buy them usually start out with a military version such as the M4 carbine.

These military rifle versions seem to attract enthusiasts interested in airsoft guns in large numbers. The most popular of these weapons sold currently is the Army M4 carbine with the attached grenade launcher, which is a very formidable looking weapon. Most makers of these guns will attach a brightly colored tip to the muzzle for safety reasons.

Most such airsoft guns are powered electrically, meaning an onboard rechargeable battery will power a piston that generates enough air to push one of those soft plastic or rubber BBs out of the barrel at around 300 ft./s of velocity, which is quick enough to make role-playing or team against team shooter competitions extremely enjoyable and exciting.

When deciding to take up a hobby it's always a good idea to go online and look at all of the different stores and manufacturers to decide just what sort of set up might make sense to buy. Prices for a replica of a military rifle can run from around $50 up to past $300 when additional accessories and equipment are added. Normally, the most expensive models will throw in a few other items.

Depending on what sort of use the airsoft guns are going to be put to (combat-style competitions, team against team shoot outs etc.) there are several pieces of gear that will need to be added. This will include some sort of tactical harness or vest where additional magazines that hold BBs can be stored along with one or two extra battery packs that can be swapped out in the middle of a firefight.

Batteries that are employed for use in airsoft guns are rechargeable and will initially require at least four hours before they can be put into use. After that, keep in mind that it's a good idea to fully drain the battery before recharging it in order to ensure the battery doesn't create a faulty memory and shut the weapon down during the middle of a firefight.

Soft plastic or rubber BBs fired from airsoft guns are readily available and relatively inexpensive, and using such guns in role-playing or combat-style games has become an exciting way for children and even adults to indulge their shooter or combat fantasies. They are even safer than paintball competitions and are 10 times as safe as competing with traditional copper BB-firing weapons.
