So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Mardi Gras Party Supplies - Making The Most Of Fat Tuesday

By Rand Fortescue

Mardi Gras comes around every year and no matter where you live you will always see someone throwing a party and having plenty of fun. So where do they get these Mardi Gras party supplies? Of course you have your traditional stores locally or you can just jump online and see what they have to offer.

Mardi Gras party supplies are very popular on the net and will sometimes offer you cheaper prices than you would receive in the stores due to the selling in bulk. You'll generally see them showing up around from January through March. If you are having a large party for Mardi Gras, purchasing in bulk may be the way to go. You will save money in the long run.

When you think of Mardi Gras party supplies you always cannot forget the beaded necklaces, masks, and of course any decor which is purple, green, or gold. Those are the three colors which you will notice a lot when it comes to this festival. Jut about anything goes during this festival, so don't be afraid if something looks really elaborate. Some people even think the gaudier, the better.

A very old and quaint tradition is to bake a King cake which has a tiny plastic baby inside. The person who finds the baby is designated as the host for the next party or can be crowned the King or Queen of the ball. You can also find Mardi Gras party supplies which reflect this theme.

If you've ever been to a Mardi Gras festival such as one held in New Orleans, you'll notice the elaborate floats that parade down the streets. You can recreate this experience in your own hometown or even at home. If you put some effort into it, you can find some nice Mardi Gras party supplies like tinsel, beads and jester type dolls to decorate your own mini-float that you can display at home.

Any Mardi Gras celebrant knows you can't have enough Mardi Gras beaded necklaces. These are essential Mardi Gras party supplies and come in various sizes and shapes, but the colors should always be purple, green and gold. Some people like to throw in red, but this is purely your choice. Shiny beads are nice, but the classic ones are the transparent ones that people love to throw to each other.

Perhaps one of the most recognizable things associated with Mardi Gras carnivals are the masks. These are elaborate, highly decorated masks that can either be full face or just to hide around the eyes. Using a few Mardi Gras party supplies such as colorful feathers, beads, sequins and glue, you can create your own or even have blank masks on hand for your guests to exercise their imagination and creativity.
