So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Use Your Photos To Create A Photo Puzzle

By Colin Southwell

For the last few years photo puzzles have become increasingly popular and today many people buy them to turn their home photographs into souvenirs and gifts for family and friends.

Not only are various design and wording styles possible, but the overall quality of the finished product is now excellent. The photo jigsaw puzzle industry has developed immensely in order to meet the more unusual designs and ideas requested by customers.

The trouble with taking hundreds of digital photographs is that they tend to stay on your computer and rarely see the light of day. It's difficult to enjoy them in the same way. Enter the personalized photo puzzle. Choose one of your great shots or perhaps an old family photo and have it made into a personalized photo puzzle.

It's an ideal way to remember a special event, holiday or family get together, and can be kept for yourself or given to others as gift. It's something that everyone, regardless of age, would be happy to receive.

Though you can use just a single photo to create your jigsaw puzzle, it's better to be more imaginative. More and more people are creating composite images to create a photo collage rather than using a single photograph. There are two ways to create your own photo collage for making into a puzzle.

The low tech way is to choose half a dozen or so of your favourite photographs, print them off and scatter them across a larger cardboard sheet, or even the carpet in your living room. You can arrange them how you like; either nicely lined up or slightly overlapping at different angles. Once you are happy with the layout, take a photo of the design from directly above. It may sound basic, but it works and you get a nice digital photo collage the low tech way.

For the more technological minded of you, you can create the layout for your photo collage using just a computer. You can do this by downloading a free graphics program from the internet. You might want to try out a piece of software from Google called 'Picasso' which is ideal for such a purpose as this.

Either way, it's easy to create a personalized image that can be used to create a photo puzzle that is truly memorable and unique.
