So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

5 Fun Options for Christmas Activities with Kids

By Ellie Evergreen

This Christmas you will be one of many parents wanting to make the holidays special for your children. One way to do this is with fun activities that will not only get your kids in the Christmas spirit, but also bring a little magic into their holiday. The best part is that it will be cheap and affordable. If you are looking for fun and interesting things to do with your kids on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, here are some great ideas you will be sure to find popular with your family.

Making stockings to hang for stocking stuffers can be a great idea for a family activity. You can have your kids tell you what type of stocking they want to make. It does not just have to be the traditional sock shape. You can have the kids choose from elf shoes, cowboy boots, ballerina slippers, or even barefeet. The idea is to have them use their imaginations to come up with the most unique stockings possible. Of course, remind them to label them with their names so Santa can know which stocking belongs to which child. Then when they are asleep, you can fill the stockings with sweets and small toys.

Making cookies and other holiday treats is another great idea. Make cookies and milk to leave out for Santa. You can have your kids decorate their cookies with frosting and sprinkles. Of course have them make some for themselves as well. The result will be some great treats. Another idea is to make a gingerbread house. This can be displayed in a prominent place in your house as part of the decorations. When the day is over the entire family can enjoy it.

Christmas karaoke is a fun way to pass the time on Christmas eve. Have your kids and other family members sing holiday favorites and Christmas songs from their favorite singers' albums. This is a way for everyone to get into the Holiday mood and have fun at the same time. If you have a karaoke machine, see if you can make it a contest by having family members vote on who did the best.

Decorating the tree with the last important decoration is a tradition that can be special. If you are like most families you will have already decorated your tree by Christmas eve. However, you can save special decorations for last. This can be the Christmas Star or Angel you put at the top of the tree or special ornaments to represent each new year your children have gotten older. This is a great way to create new memories all of your children can enjoy.

Finally you can have your younger children have a special encounter with Santa. The best part is Dad doesn't have to put on a Santa Suit. There are great online services that allow you to create the experience at home in a way that won't allow skeptical kids to think you had anything to do with the moment. One great service is a personalized call from Santa. Have your kids info like what good things they did during the year and what they wanted for Christmas ready in your order. Afterwards just sit back and watch the surprise and excitement on your kids' faces when they receive the call from Santa.
