So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Get Ready for Your Unforgettable Cyprus Holiday

By Helena Chistensen

Cyprus the images that come to mind are beaches and lush countryside - beauty as such that you are not likely to forget. Legend even goes to show that this is the place where Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, arose from the waters. Not only that, Cyprus is also a treasure house of historical sites - places and buildings that hark back to past empires and glorious days. Cyprus is found to the south of Turkey and is one of the major islands in the Mediterranean Sea.

Come and join us for a holiday that is truly remarkable. We guarantee that your holiday will always be full of adventure and excitement, as well as opportunities for relaxation and recreation. If you also want to do some partying, Cyprus offers that, too.

Cyprus offers a variety of attractions. Let's start with its beaches. You can laze around the warm waters of Protaras and Ayia Napa. For some adventure, you can try kite-surfing, snorkeling, and water-skiing. There are even water parks where you and your kids can have your water fun.

For more of nature's bounty, climb up, up, up gorgeous Troodos mountains - with Mount Olympus at its very peak. There are a bevy of hilltop villages where you can just soak up and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. During summers, you can go bird watching, hiking and cycling. Winter times are for woosh, woosh, whooshing down the trail at the ski slopes.

Archeological sites are also readily found in Cyprus, in fact this country has received recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The wall that harks back to the Stone Age and even the Roman Empire's still stand, well preserved. Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus is also home to Hama Omerye (a 14th century bath house) and a number of stunning Venetian walls (that have been kept intact all these years).

Other sites of interest include the museums (including Guzelyurt Museum), palaces and castles (like Kyrenia Caste and the Vouni Palace.

Now, Cyprus also comes abuzzing on evenings, with the night denizens coming into active mode. There are plenty of places to dance in as you socialize with the locals.
