So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

By Kay Lauren

Most homemade craft projects are made with art supplies bought from a craft store, but many artists are looking towards utilizing more junk items to create new art. Many people enjoy creating their craft projects these days because it's a challenging way to create something that's beautiful and sometimes personal. Re-purposed materials utilized in new ways is appearing in a lot of different places these days, including in fashion, fashion accessories, purses and even in decorative wall art. Creating a craft project out of junk is usually a great way to reduce the overall price to make any piece of art. Many people are trying to be more "green" these days, so craft items created from recycled supplies will be popular if you sell your items at a art show.

If you need ideas on what sort of re-used materials you can utilize you really don't have to look any further than a local thrift store. Consider recyclable craft supplies like the leather found in old handbags, shoes and wallets that can be cut into thin strips and twisted into something new. Almost any item can be imaginatively used to make fashion jewelry. Many people even make jewelry from bicycle gears and old DVDs.

Some supplies may need to be modified to make sure they don't have any sharp corners or could hurt anyone. When you're making crafts out of recycled materials you will most likely need to make sure the materials are free of dirt and safe. Be sure to clean any possible grime off any item you take out of the trash.

The next time you throw something away you might want to pause and think about what kind of craft item you could make out of it. By utilizing trash to make art you will helping the planet and maybe beginning a new funky craft business of your own! Making crafts made out of recycled materials could be your ticket to a more monetarily lucrative future.
