So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Best Ways To Begin A Small Food Preparation Service

By Eddie McQueen

Many people who have taken a risk and have gone into the catering business have found it extremely satisfying as well as financially rewarding. Be warned though, it is definitely not an easy industry to get into and you really need to be passionate about food.

The great thing about this type of business is that you are your own boss and you choose your own hours based on the events that you want to cater for. This is something you need to consider if you want to get into the business.

In the catering business, it's all about networking and who you know. Obviously you will need as much word of mouth about your new business as possible in order to kick off to a flying start, so start thinking of where you can meet more people who require your services.

In the beginning though, you will probably need some friends to spread the word about your business along with some recommendations. Other great ways to promote your catering service is also to make some fliers and hand them out at functions, or provide free food at a charity event - that will really get your business noticed (provided the food is good)!

Once you're up and running, getting on the internet is the next thing you will need to look at. If you don't have time or experience to create your own website, it's not a problem as there are many services on the internet that can help you get established on the web to advertise your business. Do not leave internet marketing out as it's an extremely efficient way of increasing your revenue.

In order for you to run a catering business, it is necessary for you to obtain a permit or a license similar to those of restaurants, just call up your nearest health department and they will give you further information.

Prior to approval, they will usually require an on-site inspection to make sure your premises passes all food sanitation prerequisites. Even after your license has been approved, random inspections will be carried out to ensure the level of cleanliness is maintained.

On a final note, it pays to know what other similar food service businesses are doing around your area. Go pay them a visit and just order some food from them to compare their levels of quality, friendliness, and speed. You will want to find out where their weaknesses are and beat them in those areas.
