So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Giving Away Wedding Guest Books

By Danny Ricks

Wedding guest books are one of the most important features in a wedding. A wedding guest book helps newly married couples to reminisce those who attended their memorable day. This helps them also to make thank you cards or to start their newly organized address book. In this special day, you would want your guest book to be something special as well.

Let Everyone Sign It. The last thing you would want to happen in your wedding guest book is being half empty. A guest book that is half empty does not serve its purpose. Have one of your trusted friends to pass it around. Do not just let it stand in front of the reception room, let it circulate. Encourage your visitors to express their wishes and not just sign their names on it. They may also write poems, tell a memorable story, draw pictures or even share some good advice.

Never let your guest book signed half empty. Let it circulate. Since you will be too busy during the occasion, have one of your friends or relatives help you to pass it around. Do some little encouragements to your guests and ask them to leave messages. The reason why most guest books are left to shelves and be forgotten is because you have no reason to look it back again. Messages, drawings, poems, stories and good advices would make it more than just a list of names and phone numbers; it is a collection of friends and families with their love and care for the both of you.

Pictures are quite good to see in a guest book. You can have your friend take Polaroid pictures of your guests and paste it on the guest book before having them sign on it. Pictures are moments captured. As for the years to come, you will not forget the faces and names of those special people around you that day. The pictures may be candid, stolen or formal shots but they always tell a story - and it is a story worth remembering.

You can also personalize your guest book by asking some of your friends and family members to share something that can be put on your guest book. These can be recipes, a composition, and stories in the past or even letters. They may even include pictures of you when you are still single or bonding times with them. It will surely be a book that is full of thoughts, fun and love from those people who care for you.

The above suggestions will really work great in an unlined book. They can freely express their feelings and mood in a blank paper. People can doodle, write very small, or write with very large fonts, write with short messages or long ones - they are free to do what they want. They will have a fun moment leaving their messages for you.

Pages with lines are best if you want to keep the formality and simplicity of your guest book. Having guided lines, writing straight would not be a problem. You can avoid messy and unattractive pages and keep them neat and in order.

You can definitely do anything with your guest book. Be it a scrap book, a jar of papers, a ceramic plate - it does not matter. There are no rules and definitely no limits. Keep in mind its purpose. It is a treasure. All you need is some creativity to make your wedding guest books worth keeping.
