So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Green Office Furniture - Advantages To The Environment

By Tammy Harris

With shocking increase in amounts of pollution and diminution of forest resources, people are increasingly becoming eco-friendly with a tremendous zeal. Using green office furniture is one of the latest steps in this regard and it can go a long way in building an eco friendly business.

A great way to sustain earth's fragile ecology is to go for modular offices. Such an office requires much lesser material and thus helps protect trees. Modular offices save not only the trees but also the money that an organization has to invest for a new set up. It's cheaper to make modular offices, and being small in area, they also mean lower rent for the company.

Buying recycled or second hand office furniture is another way of helping the environment and making an office green. This type of furniture doesn't need many modifications, and is good enough to meet the needs of most offices. The disturbing economic climate has brought many companies to the edge of bankruptcy and they are selling off their furniture for a pittance, and this generates a big opportunity for new businesses. The non-renewable resources of the planet are conserved by use of such furniture, without sacrificing on quality and comfort.

Even entirely new furniture can be green furniture if certain considerations are kept in mind. The furniture materials must be reusable and must have been manufactured locally so that transportation would not lead to heavy emissions.

Never buy furniture with foams whose production has released deadly chemicals like CFCs into the atmosphere, which are notorious for depleting the ozone layer. The furniture must have been manufactured from trees with maturity period of less than 10 years as they reduce the impact on the environment. Finally, buying more furniture than you require must be avoided and you must be frugal in your use of products.
