So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Abstaining from Fast Food for a Marriage Marriage and a Healthier Body

By Eve Kelling

Stay away from fast food if you want to have a healthy body and a healthy marriage. Yes, you heard it - fast food addiction could be a significant contributing factor to people needing divorce lawyers.

Fast food makes you build up weight like practically nothing else. That is because it's loaded with bad fats and sugar.

But that's not the big killer. Ok, it might stop your heart from working when your arteries gum up, but there's something else really bad going on.

Consider the stress it causes on your finances. The average fast food meal costs roughly $7. Now if you are in the practice of upsizing it'll most likely cost you $7.60 - yep, twice the fat for 10% extra cost. Now that is value!

For any family of perhaps, 2 adults and three kids, that is a meal expense of $35. Add to that another $5 for vehicle costs to get to the fast food outlet and back again and that is an overall total meal cost of more than $40.

So now, compare that with the other option of buying some nutritious food ingredients from the supermarket. That may cost you, say, $15 to feed 2 grown ups and 3 kids and possibly 30-40 minutes in order to cook the food.

Ok, I can understand that it's not as convenient as buying fast food, but then the outcome of habitually eating fast food isn't that convenient either.

To begin with, there's $25 you are saving on each and every fast food family meal. For an addict, that adds up to $100 per week or $5000 every year. In addition to that there's the actual expense to your health.

Financial stress is one of the biggest factors in divorce. Just imagine investing $5000 per year in your marriage and your family instead of handing it over to the fast-food giants.

What about taking a $5000 annual pay cut in exchange for some more annual leave time. That way you might get to spend some real time together and not be strangers under the same roof.

What else might you do with another $5000 per 12 months? Pay off the mortgage much faster? Take your husband or wife out to a fine restaurant every fortnight and paying a baby sitter so that you can have some 'together' time?

So now I am certain you will comprehend. If you want a great marriage and want to hold the divorce lawyers away, keep away from fast food. This is going to be much better for your body, your finances and your marriage.
